After multiple drinks to pass the night away, Aizawa leans closer to you and asks, "So, is there anyone else you're looking forward to seeing tonight?"
A playful glint appears in your eyes as you reply, "I've always thought Hawks was pretty cute, but I never got the pleasure of meeting him." You can feel yourself getting excited as you mention the handsome hero. "Do you know him?"
Aizawa nods and says, "I've met him a few times. He's a great hero and a pretty good person in general."
As you both stand up, you express your desire for one more martini, but Aizawa gently takes you by the arm and says you've had enough for now. You sigh and walk off with him, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and amusement at your slightly tipsy state.
"So... you already have your next boyfriend planned out?" Aizawa asks teasingly, though his tone is rather serious.
You hiccup as you reply, "Well, technically, you're not my boyfriend."
He smirks, "Oh, right... but we look pretty good together, don't you agree?" He then leans down slightly towards you, maintaining the charade that you're a couple. Your faces are close, and your lips are nearly touching, sending butterflies fluttering in your stomach. He then adds, "We're engaged, after all. That's even better than being your boyfriend, don't you think?"
Your heart skips a beat at his words, and you feel a surge of affection toward him, even amidst the pretense. But quickly, he changes the conversation, asking curiously, "What made you decide on Hawks? Is it his looks or his personality?"
"To be honest, I've never even talked to him before, but from what I've seen and heard, he's a good person... and being good-looking never hurt anyone," you answer honestly.
Aizawa then replies, "I've never really had a meaningful conversation with him. I mean, he's a good hero, but he's always distracted by something else," he says, his tone leaving you to wonder why he's bringing that up. "Are you sure he's the one you want to consider?"
You raise an eyebrow in confusion, "What do you mean? You know we're not a real couple, right?"
Before Aizawa can respond, Hawks suddenly approaches, putting his hand on your waist and kissing your cheek. "Hello there, apple of the paparazzi's eye," he says while grinning, "You look magnificent."
Aizawa's head turns slightly in your direction, his eyes carefully watching your reaction. There's a hint of annoyance in his expression, although he manages to keep it together. Hawks then lets you go and shakes Aizawa's hand.
Aizawa then comments, "I didn't know the two of you knew each other. Did you and my fiancé make plans without me?"
Hawks laughs and pats Aizawa on the back. You glance away, trying to hide the heat rushing to your face from the sudden embarrassment you're feeling. But Hawks only makes it worse when he says, "You know, they say 50% of marriages end in divorce."
Aizawa raises an eyebrow, "That's a bit high, but I don't think I'll fall into that percentile."
Then, you nervously speak up, eager to change the conversation to literally anything else. However, it doesn't go as smoothly as you would have liked it to go but you can blame that on the martinis. "Hawks! Um, I heard your initial costume colors were silver and white. What made you decide to change it?"
"What?" he hums, taken aback. "You know, Y/N, I think I, uh, have to go find my date so I'll talk to you later, alright?"
"Sure," you nod sadly as he quickly excuses himself, leaving you standing there with Aizawa who looks at you in confusion and raises an eyebrow.
"What the hell was that?" he asks, seeming a bit amused by your terrible attempt to talk to Hawks.
"Shut up," you grumble, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I just didn't know what else to say."
Aizawa turns his head to watch as Hawks walks away, and then looks back at you. You can see a glint of curiosity in his eyes as he looks at you. Then he hesitates for a moment before suggesting, "Do you want to go and get some fresh air?"
"Yes," you smile as your body relaxes with a sigh of relief. "I'd love to."
Instinctively, you take his hand, and together you slip away from the crowd. The night air is refreshing as you step outside, away from the noise and the prying eyes.
As you walk together, a comfortable silence settles between you, and you feel a sense of ease in Aizawa's presence. The facade of the charade seems to momentarily fade away, leaving you with a genuine connection that you can't deny.
After a while of walking, you both stop, and Aizawa turns to face you. You pause, looking at each other in the dim light. Softly, he breaks the silence, saying, "You know, you are truly beautiful," which makes your face grow hot. He then wraps his arm around you, he leans in, and gently kisses your cheek adding fuel to the fire on your face.
You chuckle nervously and reply, "This is getting a lot more complicated than we signed up for."
Aizawa looks at you, uncertainty flickering in his eyes. But before he can respond, you grab onto his shirt and pull him close, kissing him. He responds, pushing you gently against a nearby wall, his hands caressing your cheeks and hair, his fingers playing with your hair as they get lost in the beauty of your face.
"I don't really care about the complications, Y/N," he whispers between kisses. "And I don't know what will happen after this but it doesn't really matter anyway."
"Shota," you then hum.
"Yes?"
"How far is your house from here?"
"Three blocks."
