Chapter 5

It was a brand-new day after the lights of Pandora, and Lo'ak was still amazed by all the beautiful colors and the medley he had seen that night. He even added this event to his song chord, along with the changes related to a new clan and saying goodbye to an old life. That was when Lo'ak looked at some of the old parts of his song chord, which brought back sad memories for him. He didn't know whether he should keep them on his song chord as he looked down at it.

???? "Hello, Lo'ak, are you here?"

Lo'ak: "Yes, I'm here." Lo'ak soon saw Awuma and Upix step into his home.

Awuma, "We have been asked to bring you to the clan spirit tree under the orders of the Tsaik and Aey."

Lo'ak "oh, okay."

Upix "bring your mask as well; it will be needed." Lo'ak nodded and soon followed his friends outside his home, heading to the spirit tree. He was shocked and amazed by the size and beauty of the spirit tree, as it flowed with bright colors.

Aey, "Good, you all have come. We are sorry we are doing this so late, Lo'ak."

Lo'ak: "I fully understand, Aey."

Aey "good."

Feyya "Eywa sent a sign last night. I think she wishes for you to come to the spirit tree and seek out the guidance of those who are no longer here."

Lo'ak "yes, ma'am."

Vaylu "put your mask on; it will help you." Lo'ak quickly put on his mask, making sure it stayed in place. He then walked toward the part of the spirit tree, grabbed a branch along with his quill, and made the connection. He closed his eyes as the connection was established.

Lo'ak "hometree." Lo'ak recognized it as the old hometree. He had heard stories about this place from his parents and grandmother.

???? "Hello, my grandson." Lo'ak was startled when he heard the deep voice; he looked up and saw his grandfather standing there.

Lo'ak "Grandfather."

Eytukan "Hello, my grandson. I've been hoping to see you, but not like this."

Lo'ak: "I'm so happy to see you finally. I've heard many great things about you."

Eytukan "I'm glad to see my precious grandson. You look so much like your father, both in looks and youthful spirit."

Lo'ak: "I have failed Jake Sully. I've been the spirit of my family name."

Eytukan "Yes, I've seen it all happen, and I know you are completely innocent of those horrible lies."

Lo'ak: "I wish everyone else believed me as you do."

Eytukan "Anger and ignorance often cloud judgment, my boy. The judgment has been fully clouded."

Lo'ak: "Aren't you mad at me for leaving as I did?"

Eytukan "No, my boy. I'm proud of you. It takes a young man to step away and find new meaning in life."

Lo'ak "......"

Eytukan "I see you, my grandson, and I know you will do great things when you grow up. Lo'ak, you are someone special from the day you were born until now." A smile spread across Lo'ak's face as tears fell from his eyes. He was happy to hear that someone had seen him.

Lo'ak: "Thank you, grandpa. Please, look out for my sibling and Spider — even my friends. They are still dear to me, even if I'm not to them anymore."

Eytukan "As you wish, my boy." Eytukan hugged his grandson, making him feel happy.

Lo'ak: "Do you have any advice for me, grandfather?"

Eytukan "Yes, use that mighty heart and brain of yours to be a good leader and warrior. The people will listen."

Lo'ak: "Thank you, grandfather."

Eytukan "This is where I live now, my grandson. May you do well."

Lo'ak: "Thank you, grandfather."

Eytukan "Use what you know about these humans, and share it with the clan. There are good and bad humans."

Lo'ak "Yes, sir. I will." Soon, the scene ended, and Lo'ak slowly removed his mask from his face.

Feyya "So, how did it go, child?"

Lo'ak: "It went well."

Aey "That's good."

Vaylu "Who did you see?"

Lo'ak: "My grandpa. He had long passed before I was born, and he gave me good advice."

Awuma "That's wonderful."

Lo'ak "Aey, may I have a word with you and your council? If you're going to fight these humans, you need to know enough about them."

Aey "Come with me, all of you, as we seek counsel with the elders and discuss the knowledge Lo'ak wishes to share." The group nodded and followed after Aey as they left the spirit tree to seek counsel that night.
