It has been a few months since the Rebellion ended, and Cassana has recovered well from all she endured. She has become more comfortable with her dagger and has begun to watch her Father and uncle train. When she watches her Father, he tends to train with his war hammer and shows Cassana his technique when wielding a heavy weapon. Yet when she watches her uncle, he shows her his footwork and how to be fluid with the blade. She is fascinated no matter the weapon and takes in their words. Sometimes, she takes notes as well. Her mother does her best to occupy her time with activities meant for a lady and a queen, but Cassana always manages to escape them quickly.
Cassana loves to spend time with her mother, as she frequently states, but she wishes to know more about how to protect the ones she loves and herself. What if she hadn't killed the GreyJoy spy, and he had hurt her siblings and mother? Cassana would never forgive herself for such a failure. So, even if her mother doesn't like it, she will learn how to protect her loved ones from those who could hurt them. Especially now that she has another sibling on the way. When Cersei told Robert, Cassana, and little Joffrey of her pregnancy, Cassana was the happiest of the three, running into her mother's arms and telling her all the ideas for names she had been thinking of since she gave birth to Myrcella the year before. Cassana was sure her mother was going to have another boy. She was so confident that she made a bet with her Uncle Jamie that if she were right, he would have to train her in sword fighting. Cersei was not pleased with said bet, but she felt she was bringing another girl into the world, so she paid no mind to the wager. When one cannot find the Heir to the Iron Throne, there are two places to look, one being with her mother and the little prince and princess or with her Father hearing stories of his younger years and all things he wishes to do with her when she is a bit older. Since her run-in with death, she has become more clingy with her parents. Realizing she could have been killed and would've never seen them again made her want more time with them as a family. She is insistent on dinners together as a family and breaking fast together. She accompanies her mother on walks through the garden and makes her take the long way to her chambers each night so they may have more time to talk, whereas, with her Father, she sits in his office with him when she can as well reads to him whenever she asks him to take him to bed. Both Robert and Cersei understood that their daughter was adjusting to the trauma she had endured and found the time they spent with their daughter since the incident to be all that more precious. Not to mention, wherever Cassana goes, her little shadow follows. Joffrey didn't know what happened to his sister, but he knew it was terrible, even at three years old.
Just like his sister, when he put his mind to something, he would follow it through. Joffrey went everywhere his sister went, and when he couldn't, he would cry for her until she was in his sights again. Neither parent minded when he followed her around; Cersei found it heartwarming, and Robert believed it showed how close his "blood" was with each other. Cassana loved being with her brother. Reading to him and teaching him all her Septa, Milah would teach her during the day when he couldn't be with her. Many nights when she couldn't sleep, she would alternate between her brother's and sister's chambers to ensure they were safe and sleeping peacefully. Cassana had not told anyone about her disorder sleeping as she didn't wish to add to the concern she knew her loved ones held, but she had nightmares that happened almost every night when she closed her eyes. Pictures of the man above her as he slits her throat or makes her watch as he kills her mother and siblings instead.
