When Kate awakes from her deep slumber she is met with a strong smell of what seems to be a citrus shampoo.
The smell is comforting and Kate brings whatever it is closer to her taking in another breath just to breathe it in.
Her eyes remain closed and her hand is extremely warm with something clasped in it, she's never woken up so warm, but she doesn't want to wake up fully yet she just wants to lay there for forever.
In the warmth.
A small grunt comes from whatever Kate has held in her arms and it's enough to make her eye flutter open.
She's met with a bundle of soft blonde hair, and suddenly Kate's eyes widen.
Oh shit. Nothing to see here just cuddling..my friend from school.
That's normally straight.
Lena's eyes are still screwed shut hidden into Kate's chest, Kate's left arm is wrapped around Lena's waist and her right hand is intertwined tightly into Lena's hand.
Their legs were wrapped together as well and Lena might as well have been a small ball as she slightly tucking herself in like a little child.
Whimpers and small grunts came from the blonde and she lightly kicked at Kate.
Realization struck that Lena might be having a nightmare and Kate tries her best to wrap the girl closer to let her know she was safe.
She took her wrapped arm and gently took a lock of Lena's blonde hair, twirling it in her finger.
Each time Lena would fuss Kate would continue you to play with her hair whispering to her words of encouragement.
She's not sure how long she's been staring at her sleeping friend but pure panic strikes her when she starts to realize that Lena is now awake staring at Kate as well.
"Hey." Kate smiles her voice raspy as she looks into Lena's still tired droopy eyes.
"Hi." Lena says pained at the light that is now coming from the sun, she snuggles closer into Kate's chest trying to avoid the sun.
Kate chuckles at the motion, but gladly lets her get somehow even closer.
"I'm guessing you didn't tell the Frosts that this was a sleepover?" Kate decides to start conversation so that it'll help wake up the girl.
She hums, "They will live."
"I'm sure they will. The question is will you?"
Lena shrugs into Kate seeming not to care.
The two stay entangled with each other, with what seems like an eternity until a phone ringing breaks the peace and quiet.
Kate groans realizing that it is her phone that is ringing, Lena still remains in her spot as Kate takes half of her limbs and throws them over Lena reaching for her phone on her dresser.
"This is Kate." She says answering the phone, legs now on Lena's both left and right.
"Uh huh. No...mom really?!" Kate lets out throwing her free hand in the air widely.
"Okay okay. Yes I'll have Ward drive me, I understand mom. Be safe." Kate hangs up the phone with her mother setting the phone back on the dresser her focus now on how she is quite literally sitting a top Lena.
"Oh." Kate awkwardly chuckles a string of her hair barely touching Lena's burned pink cheeks.
"Hey." Lena says her morning voice raspy as a smirk toys on her small smile.
