"Shhh." Kates hushes Lena as they climb up the stairs towards the roof of the school.
Kates surprised that newbie even was willing to go with her, especially up to the roof. On her first day. In the fall.
A breeze hits the both of them as Kate swings the door open. She watches carefully as Lena eyes enlarge looking at her and then looking towards the view.
Kate chuckles at the sudden youth of the blonde as she rushes towards the very edge of the roof, closing her eyes and inhaling a large breath of autumn air.
Something about it is enchanting, to see another girl enjoy the roof as much as she does.
A break from the world.
Kate waits a moment before walking slowly towards the edge taking a seat and swinging her legs over the gutters.
The dark brunette takes a look at the view below. Cars still in a rush, people in a rush, everything in a rush. But for now, the world is slow. The wind is chilly but the company is warm.
"I'm starting to rethink the saying 'stranger danger'."
Lena's eyes are now open and on Kate a smirk toying at her lips.
"So tell me Kate Bishop, how do you like this school?"
It makes Kate snort, "like? Yeah right. More how I dislike it."
Lena raises an eyebrow at the girl looking confused and in thought. It takes Kate a moment but she lets out a small 'Ah'.
"You're new here, which is good. People don't really hate you or like you. You're on last name basis. Where people judge you on your last name."
Kate takes a chilly breath looking down at the street below.
"I've been here most my life. I've been known by many nicknames, many titles. 'The girl with no dad', 'Wannabe', 'you'll never make it'."
She mocks all the people that mock her in a scratching high pitch voice making Lena smile small at her.
"The point is.." Kate kisses the back of her teeth.
"I've never been liked here. So theres not much for me to like about it."
"Maybe it is because you lead kids to the roof?"
They both giggle at the comment, Kate playfully pushing Yelena.
"Only a couple. They really should add me to the welcome committee."
Yelena nods, "yes yes, maybe that way you'll stop putting children on the roof and in their correct classes."
Kate finds her self letting out another chuckle looking at Lena. She realizes that she's still not sure of the thick accent.
"So what are you European?"
Lena lets out a belly laugh throwing a hand on Kate's shoulder.
"European? I feel offended. Russian actually." She says matter a factly.
Kate rolls her eyes, she was close.
"Should've guessed with all your death threats you were giving me up here, oh also don't push me off the roof please."
Lena rolls her eyes, "I am too talented to push you off a roof."
Kate purses her lips, humming a sarcastic hum knowing darn well Lena would push her off a roof.
"You like Russia?"
Kate notices Lena shift in attitude she quickly looks away from Kate giving her a shrug.
