Taylor stood in front of her bathroom mirror, nervously going over her appearance.
Today was PJ and Taylor's first official date. PJ had aced all his midterms and had stopped needing tutoring. This meant that Taylor and PJ were free to see each other.
"Taylor, your friend is here!" Anne, Taylor's mother, called up the stairs.
Taylor breathed in a shaky breath before heading down to the stairs to greet PJ.
"Is that my shirt?" Diana's voice called to her.
"Oh, um. Yeah, I think you left it here once. I can change."
"No, you look hot. Keep it."
Taylor was glad Diana had invited herself over. She was super nervous to see PJ, and she knew that Diana would help calm her nerves. Although she was a tad nervous that when PJ came over she would say something inappropriate.
But PJ would be expecting that by now.
"What if he tries to kiss you? You need to be prepared." Diana was trying to convince Taylor she would need a thirty-six pack of gum.
"Diana, I don't think he's going to care what my breath is like if we've just had lunch." Taylor dismissed her friend.
"But Taylor, you went to all that work. Don't you want a second date?"
"I'm going to get a second date?" Taylor rolled her eyes with a smile.
"Maybe. Or maybeeeee, he was just using you to get his grades up?" Diana pushed Taylor. Diana had been trying to get Taylor to believhet theory that PJ wasn't actually as interested in her as he'd let on. Taylor wasn't buying it. PJ was sweet, and not exactly smart enough to come up with something like that.
Taylor's phone buzzed, pulling them from their argument.
PJ: hey im so srry 2 do this but need 2 bbysit lil sis! another time?
Taylor suddenly felt sick.
PJ wasn't just using her, right?
