Past: freshman year of college

I type on my laptop as the professor talks about the lesson we're learning.

Like most teenagers I didn't know what I wanted to do for college, but I knew I liked to plan or organized things so I looked into public relations and fell in love.

My dad is a college basketball coach and I grew up being around sports so I decided to go with sports public relations.

I'm just about done with my freshman year of college and it's been interesting.

"Ok guys, on your way out I have a sign up sheet for a summer internship if you're interested. Just write down all of your information and you'll get a confirmation email. I highly recommend signing up because this can help you get your foot in the door" My professor said packing up his things so he could leave.

I hit save and shut down my laptop, Allie texted me asking if I wanted to get coffee since she doesn't have class today.

I grab my stuff and fill out the internship sheet before I go to meet Allie.

I look over the sheet and see there's an option to go to the sports facilities and shadow with the PR department.

I read down the list to see what openings they have left and the baseball team and basketball team are the last ones available.

Looks like I'm going with baseball.

After I sign up I go to meet Allie, but something catches my eye, or should I say someone who always catches my eye and is the main reason why I chose baseball.

Wesley Carter has been catching my eye since I was a freshman in highschool.

He's the type of guy that is friends with just about everyone, and he's a genuine nice guy.

I only knew him in highschool because my cousin Knox played on the baseball team with him and I tutored some of his teammates, but besides that I don't really know him.

Whenever we had an interaction he was always so sweet to me so it was impossible to not have a crush on him.

I mean one look into those kind brown eyes and I was hooked.

Have I thought about gaining the courage to talk to him now that I have the confidence? Of course I have, but whenever I get close I chicken out.

I figured maybe this summer internship will give me the opportunity to get close to him and I'll gain the courage to talk to him.

He's talking with a group of his teammates, laughing about something one of them just said.

He plays baseball for our college team and everybody knows he'll go into the MLB because he's really good.

He's a really good short stop, but knows how to hit a ball, he's an all around great player.

I promise I'm not a stalker or anything, but if you ever met Wesley then you'd have to stop and stare because he's just that gorgeous.

My phone goes off snapping me back to reality, I check and see its Allie asking me what I want at the cafe.

I told her to get me a orange juice and a egg and cheese croissant since all I had for breakfast was a granola bar.
