~~~Wesley's pov~~~
"Ok ready? 1...2...3..."
Lanie jumps off the boat and into my arms.
She screams and giggles as she wraps her arms around my neck.
Today is my brother-in-law's birthday and he wanted to have a family day out on their boat, so we're hanging out at our local state park.
Thankfully the water is pretty clear so we can see if there's any alligators where we're swimming.
Gotta love Florida.
"Again uncle Wesley, again!" She cheered.
She holds onto me as we wade through the water, where we are it's only like 5 and a half feet deep so I'm able to stand considering I'm 6'3.
I lift her up and she steps up onto the back of the boat, then she steps back and runs to jump off the boat right back into my arms.
Even though I play professional baseball and I work out regularly, doing this for the past 15 minutes is tiring me out.
My sister walks to the end where we are. "Hey, why don't we give uncle Wesley a break and you can go swim with daddy" She suggested to Lanie.
"Ok" She said.
She runs and jumps one more time then my brother in law gets in the water to relieve me.
I swim to have side of the boat where the ladder and climb up onto the boat.
I walk over to the seat where my towel is and dry off a bit.
I walk down by my parents and sister, and I make myself a plate of the pasta salad my sister made along with some watermelon and a bottle of water.
"She tire you out?" Mom asked.
I blew out an exaggerated breath. "For someone so tiny she packs a punch. I play professional baseball and I barely break a sweat yet 15 minutes playing with her and I'm exhausted."
My sister snorts. "Just wait until you have your own kids" She said.
Mom laughed. "I remember when you guys were kids, the amount of energy you both had compared to your dad and I, I'm honestly surprised we didn't pass out from exhaustion" She said.
Dad agreed. "Yeah, you both have us a run for our money, but your brother was worse" He sipped his beer.
I gasped. "How was I worse?"
"You always wanted to move around like a typical boy, hell even when you were sick you wanted to run around" Mom said.
Dad nodded. "I remember when you had the flu, you threw up a few times, then asked if you could go outside and ride your bike" He said.
My sister laughed. "Good luck if you ever have a boy and he has the same energy level" She took a sip of her soda.
"Speaking of your future children... Have you been seeing anyone?" Mom asked.
