The next morning it's Hermione who has to calm me down. Angelina Johnson handed me the new issue of Witches Weekly with an uncertain look. "I thought you might want to read it before someone else made fun of you." Once again I grace the front page. This time in triplicate. One with Viktor dancing close together, one with Cedric looking quite familiar as always and finally one with George just coming down the stairs with his arm around my shoulders and my arm around his waist. Headline: "The third in the league." I take an angry breath and start to read. This time I also know that this article is by Rita Skeeter. She just can't stop! "The young Y/n Y/l/n, of whom we reported earlier, was seen with another lover at Hogwarts on the night of the Yule Ball. According to sources, this is George Weasley (pictured), one of the older brothers of a friend of Y/n's. Nevertheless, the young witch was also spotted again with Cedric Diggory and Viktor Krum, with whom she is said to be a few steps further. Viktor Krum was also spotted with Hermione Granger, a friend of Miss Y/l/n's. Krum has probably understood by now that the young Gryffindor is playing an ugly game with him and has oriented himself elsewhere. The two were only spotted together before the ball, but later never danced together. Is Y/l/n's plan not working after all? According to sources, Harry Potter gave her a cold rebuff because he knows about her cold intentions. Y/l/n ex-boyfriend confirms: 'Y/n is disloyal. She dumped me for three other guys after I put the world at her feet.' The ice-cold heartbreaker doesn't seem to be worried though, as you can always see her very carefree." I let out some pretty vulgar curses at this beast and explode with anger. I hand Angelina the newspaper with a forced "thank you" and rush outside, ignoring Hermione's calls, running into the Great Hall and finding who I've been looking for."McLaggen, you lousy little rat!" I yell as I rush towards him and he looks at me in shock. "I can explain!" he says hurriedly, raising his hands, but I'm about to kill him and he knows it, so he's suddenly scared of me. "Explain that to someone else!" I snap at him. "You really want me to wring your neck! What do you think of telling such a whisked dragon poop?” "I didn't say it like that!" he squeaks and I know he's lying. That Rita Skeeter might be a b*tch, but I'm sure that's what Cormac said to her because he can't stand the fact that I'm happy without him. "Tell your lies to someone who wants to hear them!" I snap. "That's character assassination and you know it!" "What's going on here?" Viktor comes up behind me and puts an arm around my shoulder. I'm rattling on, seething, at what that goddamn article said, and more importantly, Cormac's involvement. I'm about to start screaming again when Viktor raises his voice. “You will arrange for some articles to appear in which you take back your statement. I don't care how you do it, but you will do it, and you will make a point of emphasizing that Y/n is a loving, honest, and selfless person. Otherwise you can experience something, Cormac. Do you understand me or do you still have questions?"Cormac shakes his head silently and Viktor pulls me away from him because I still want to kill him. "Calm down," he murmurs now, hugging me but I just can't. "I'm so fed up! This is character assassination! What should half the world think of me now? They all think I only like you because you're famous anyway! And that stupid Skeeter makes me look like a slut!”
"And we know that's not the case." He looks at me calmly and strokes my cheek. "And if she ever writes something that.. what.. you might believe?" I ask softly, not even being able to look him in the eye. It would tear me up if something like this happened. "I don't believe this woman," he says briskly now. "I know her and I know you. Everything will be fine. We can do this... together.” I look up because he's making me do it and I have to smile because he's so incredibly cute. "OK."
"Now don't worry anymore and don't do anything to McLaggen, that's not your level." Articles about

Viktor and me have now appeared in most well-known newspapers – with a depiction that corresponds to reality. The same goes for Ced as it's been made clear that we've known each other since we were kids and are best friends and also that George is just a friend and that Harry and I have never been anything either. Of course, Rita Skeeter tried to destroy it all again, but somehow she doesn't really succeed anymore. The next exam is coming up soon and it probably has something to do with this golden egg. Cedric doesn't want to tell me about it, but he just grins when he talks about it. Personally, I'm still worried about my boys, but I know they'll make it.
