Leah had scheduled a doctor's visit today with her local doctor before the next races in Montreal. They were supposed to be leaving sometime tomorrow. Leah and Lando have been trying to litter box train Pippin. They'd decided that's what they were going to call him. Since he's such a little pimp. Leah thought it was cute when Lando called him Pip. She also thought it sounded like Pimp sometimes, but she still liked the name. They had to leave him there alone for a few hours while they went to the doctor, but Leah didn't want to leave him just yet. He'd only been with the couple for a few days. Before leaving Leah gave the kitten several kisses and assured him that they would be back within an hour or two, they wouldn't be gone long. Lando thought it was cute that she cared so much for the little guy already.
As they drove to the doctor's office, they went passed a few people who had their phones out. Leah waved, of course, she liked her fans. Most of them at least, the ones who respected her privacy and were kind to her. The ones that stalked her and tried to trap her weren't her favorites. When they pulled up to the doctor's office a few people recognized them, but they didn't ask what they were doing there, which Leah was thankful for, she didn't want to have to explain anything to anyone. They took pictures and signed a few things, but got to their appointment on time.
It was just a consultation about the options the young couple had for their futures. Leah still didn't like the idea of having kids. She hated that she had fucked up genes and she was upset that her family even had her, so she decided everything would stop with her, but in doing that she would also take away Lando's becoming a father. which is something he's wanted since he was younger. He'd always thought he would be a great dad and he'd told Leah that several times while they talked about kids in their first few months of marriage.
"So, Leah," Her doctor smiled at her as she sat down on a stool across from her. It was a female, of course, her accent thick like Charles's. "This must be your husband," The woman shook his hand.
"Lando Norris," Lando smiled as the woman sat back down.
"Dr. Kartiva," She gave him a smile as she looked through the charts once more. "so you are here to speak about the option you have for childbirth correct?" She asked and Leah nodded. "Okay well, I mean with your condition, you aren't able to carry children past the first or second trimester," Leah nodded as she played with the ring on her hand. "But there are other ways, like a Surrogate, I know I told you that last time. There is also adoption, too if you would like to go for those types of routes." Her doctor explained as she handed Leah a few pamphlets with ways to get into touch with people that could help her with either path she chose. "Is there anything in particular that you are concerned with?"
"Um," Leah looked through the pamphlets. She hated looking at these. She hated being here, it all just made her feel guilty for her miscarriage. "No, I think this is good, for now, thank, you," Leah smiled. Lando didn't want to say anything because he knew Leah didn't really want to come to this. He knew she'd rather just decide on her own.
"Alright, well this was a fast trip," Dr. Kartiva stood up and shook Leah's hand. "You know where to find me when you decided, have a wonderful day." She walked out of the room as Lando held the door open for her. Leah wouldn't look up at him though. It made Lando's chest ache. He hated how she felt ashamed for the miscarriage. It took him a little while to wrap his head around the whole situation, but he did it quickly after he realized how much it hurt Leah to know that she couldn't have his kid.
"I'll meet you in the car," Leah muttered as she handed him the pamphlets.
"Are you sure?" Lando asked, but she nodded and quickly walked in the opposite direction of the exit. Lando just stuck the papers into his jacket pocket and walked out. He stood outside of his car waiting for her though.
