Time skip + Anthony POV:
I haven't felt like myself since dad started having me work in all that Mafia stuff. I don't feel human or like myself anymore. Soon I'll be just as empty as those goons of his. I stare at the ceiling just as I had been for the past three hours. It's about 11:30. The sun is beaming through the blinds but I'm not letting it in. Molly enters my room calmly and quietly. "Hey Anthony.. is everything okay?" She asked politely. I looked at her then sat up. I shrugged. "You've been really quiet lately.. it's unlike you" She don't look that happy either ,in my defense. I don't really know what to say. "Yeah, sorry 'bout that.. just had uh.. a lot on my mind" I said, making an excuse. She looked sad for a moment, then her smile appeared. She turned to me, energy nearly bursting out of her eyes. "I have somethin' that might cheer you up!" She tells me excitedly. I listen, confused. "The 4th is coming up. You could take Alastor to a fireworks festival for a date! That would cheer you up, right?" She beamed. Well I mean I could use a break. All this thinkin' shit is messin' with me after all, plus I haven't seen Alastor in a bit. I'm worried somethin' happened to him. "Alright!" I reply. She hugs me, then leaves to go finish up the chores. Well I guess now I have to! Plus if I don't talk to Alastor soon he'll probably never forgive me. I look at the calendar to see if it says anything. Nope. I gotta find out when a show might be first, like the times n' all that. I hear some noise coming from outside so I grab my boots and a light jacket and head out to see what the ruckus is. The mailman is here, maybe that'll help me. I see him about to cram some stuff in our mailbox before I run up to him and stop him. "Uh, hey! Got anything good for me? Like uh, a flyer or somethin'" I stuttered out. He shrugs and hands me a flyer just like I asked for. I look over it. Yes! A fireworks show with a date, time, n' all that! "Thanks man!" I smile as I head back inside. "Kids these days" he mumbled confused. Now I got a plan. I go to the phone and call Alastor's house. Micheal answers. "Hen, is that you?" He said in a raspy tone. "Uh no, it's Anthony. My dad's at work" I mumbled. "Why are you calling?" He sounded annoyed. "Can I talk to Alastor?" I asked. He groans "Whatever" and then there's a brief silence. Alastor eventually answers "Hello?" He says in that calming voice of his. I smiled. "Hey Al, I was wonderin' if you uh wanted to go on a date?" My heart raced as I thought about what I just said. It's quiet for a second, but only a second. "O-of course! When and where will this be?" He ask. I gave him the details from the flyer.
Time skip to 4th of July — Anthony POV:
Im combing my hair in the mirror the way Al likes it, then I set that down. I put a white dress shirt on with a black leather jacket over it and some dirty jeans. This is the nicest thing I could come up with. I put my boots on and make sure I don't smell like rotting wood today (luckily I don't) and start to head over to Alastor's house. I knock on the door and wait a moment. Alastor opens the door, and that charming smile instantly eases my anxiety. He's dressed for the date too. A white dress shirt with a red button up vest over it and some black pants and dress shoes. The red bowtie brings it all together. He's beautiful, stunning even. For a second I'm at a loss of what to say. "Uhm soo, I believe you were taking me out, yes?" Alastor says, trying to get my attention again. I snap out of it "Right! Yeah, c'mon!" I reach of his hand but he looks back at the house, his smile faltering a bit. Right, his dad. "Sorry, that can wait." I put my hands in my pockets awkwardly and start walking. He follows me. We head to the fireworks show area. An open grassy hill, perfect distance to see the full things and a nice open sky. I set a blanket down and sit on it. It ain't too fancy but I hope things will still go smoothly. He sits beside me. "When does it start?" Alastor asked. "Seven. I s'pose I coulda waited more. We could go grab a soda or somethin' maybe while we wait" I suggested. He leans into my chest. "No, this is perfect" I can feel my face heating up. God, why's he gotta be so cute?! We stay like this for a while and then some more people show up. No one's botherin' us though, because God forbid they sit next to the gay couple. I pat Alastor on the head. I can see all the trucks in the distance that are here to set up. First some Roman Candles, then the actual shit. Alastor leans up and watches in amazement. I don't think he's ever seen this sort of thing before. Makes me feel more special that I was to show this to him, heh. The lights fill the darkening sky with burst of color, when one fades another blows. Red, orange, purple, green, ECT. Some kids have sparklers too. The entertainment goes on most of the night. The fireworks continued to crackle as they bursted beautiful color into the sky. I think Alastor's gettin' tired, he's nearly layin' on me. I smile and look at him. His soft, tan skin, small freckles, dark eyes and soft auburn hair. He notices my staring and looks at me. Suddenly I do something without thinking. I kiss him on the lips. He seems a bit shocked but he kisses me back. Everything is perfect. When we're done he pulls away, now red in the face. I pretty much feel the same, I can't believe I just did that. I smile a bit. Alastor holds my hands and I start to watch the time so I can make sure he doesn't get locked out. Overall, the date turned out amazing
