Chapter Six:
There's a first for everything

"Wei Kexing." Lan Qiren had called, making the boys eyes widen as he realized what he had just done.

Falling to the floor on his knees before the Grandmaster he bowed.

"I apologize for what I have done wrong, I realize my actions were out of line. And I will take any punishment you wish for me to recieve."

He said head pressed against the floor.

Then he felt a figure drop down next to him and for the third time since he walked into the Lan Clan he was shocked.

"Grandmaster Lan this was not my brother's fault, although he broke rules they were to defend my honor. Please allow me to take any punishment you wish to give him." Wei Wuxian had said, and when Wei Kexing looked over at him in shock he had seen him in the same kneeling position he had been.

Just then Lan Qiren had cleared his throat directly the brothers attention onto him. One looking hopeful while the other had fear in his eyes.

"I understand that you were provoked however we must protect and abide by our rules. I hope you understand." He said to Wei Kexing, before turning to Wei Wuxian. "Like I told your brother last night I will not allow others to take on punishments for those that break rules, no matter the circumstances."

While he would usually look at Wei Wuxian in distaste both boys could see that the man was both shocked and quite happy at the development before him.

Wei Kexing's shoulders dropped as he sighed in relief and bowed again.

"Thank you Grandmaster Lan."

Meanwhile Wei Wuxian looked ready to protest yet stopped at a look from his brother, sighing he bowed as well.

"Thank you Grandmaster Lan."

Letting out a short hum similar to his youngest nephews favorite response he nodded and both boys stood up.

"Since Wei Wuxian is still in punishment with Lan Wangji I will have Lan Xichen conduct your punishment next time." Then he made it a point to turn to his nephews who stared at the two Wei brothers with mixed emotions. "I would like to keep the two brothers apart during punishment to ensure there is no foolery happening."

Both boys nodded and Lan Qiren waved everyone back to their seats.

Turning around Wei Kexing went to walk back to his desk when he had his sword handed to him, looking up he made eye contact with the cute boy he had stared with before.

The boy looked as red as a tomato, and seemed to look close to death when Wei Kexing offered him a soft smile taking the sword from his hands. Fingers accidentally touching sending shivers down their backs.

"Thank you.." Wei Kexing said softly and started walking to his desk.

"You're welcome." The boy said, speaking like a smooth honey that delighted Wei Kexing's ears.

Sitting back at his desk sword in sheath he stared at Lan Qiren as if he was paying attention yet his thoughts consisted of a blushy honey filled boy that had sparked his heart.
