Chapter 1 Juuso the Araneid:

After debating for five hours, the sins come to the conclusion that they need a strategy for identifying who replaced the devil and where he is. Around their war room table, the six sins discuss theories and formulate plans. They continue talking and realise that someone significant must have been killed, but who was it? They decide to approach Juuso the Araneid for assistance.

The araneid is a demon that can change into a spider for combat when necessary. She usually takes the form of a red demon with tiny horns on her head. One of the devil's earliest allies, she is well renowned for this.

She informs the sinners that the devil is almost certainly dwelling in some part of hell. She informs them that Tennitecel, which is a town barely 10 miles from Plymp, and its "The pig in smoke" pub are the most likely locations for him to be found. Whether they had won or lost, he and his generals would always travel there after a battle.

They make the decision to get there right away, and while en route, they had the idea to ask some of the tier 2 angels if they can assist them because even the angels are concerned about what will continue to happen if the devils throne remains unfilled.

The araneid brings along 4 scouts, a scout lead, 10 soldiers and 5 grunts along with them as protection against any threats that they will encounter.

Chapter 2 Tunnel of the demons:

The araneid continues to tell stories about some of the battles that the devil had fought in alongside her and some other demons. She tells them that his first victory was at the battle of Rospa in 435 BC. That was the first in a long series of war that led to the destruction of Thetisouth which was the country that became Poal.

After talking for another hour they make it to the infamous tunnel of demons which is well known right of passage amongst the demon community. It is believed that if a demon no matter their tier must pass through this tunnel in order to see "the pig in smoke". Some rumours say that if a tier 4 demon is able to make its way through the tunnel it will be given the power of a tier 2 being but at the end of the day that's just a rumour. The tunnel leads directly to the pig in smoke so it's vital to their mission.

All of the untamed demons and angels are sent there, which is why it is regarded as a rite of passage. It is protected by two tier 2 angels who have been stationed there since 275 AD, and they argue with anyone who isn't a tier 1 or 2 demon or angel. The araneid informs the sinners that people think the two angels are very selective about who they let in.

The araneid believes that since she has passed through the tunnel numerous times throughout her life, it is better for her to consult the angels. The sins nod in agreement and allow her to get by, but they choose to follow close behind her in case the angels get aggressive. Hey you two, it's been a while, Juuso says. Could you please allow us to pass? Me and the six sins are searching for the devil, and we think he is in the pig in the smoke.

The two angels look at each other and shake their heads in unison. Juuso develops a baffled look onto her face and asks why they can't go past. They tell her that they're under strict orders by god and the other SCT (Seraphim cherubim thrones) angels to not even let tier 2 people through.

The sins speak up and request that everyone be allowed to pass as they are the devil's closest companions. The angels give them a look of bewilderment and explain that this is why they don't want them to enter the tunnel since they are unsure of their intentions. The angels don't think the devil is alive either; if he were, they would have seen him at the pub, and if he were, they would have felt it. As they attempted to perform the rite of sinners and a scroll appeared from the ground claiming he was alive, the sins and Juuso attempt to persuade them that the devil is, in fact, alive.
