As I sat by the fire, I look down the dirt road and I don't see anything even though I Had heard horses and marching. There's probably a good 5 miles straight of dirt road and then there's a cliff the road turns past from the looks of it. I can't see anything from here, Since I can't see anything and who ever it is are Probably a couple hours away. Most likely a big party, From this body's memory there should be a town about day's worth of walking from here. I bet that it's a merchant or noble, with guards, hopefully Just passing through here like I am. Besides that, I didn't really have to worry about it.
Feeling slight sticky and dry, I decided to take a Bath in the Lake. This being my first time in water after being reborn, I thought i'd Shift into my merman form and get used it it before going to the city. after all, it's a port city. I want to get the hang of swimming before I actually go into the ocean and experience it.
So I proceed to look into my Space ability and see if there is some bath necessities, I also look for something to cover myself with. I end up finding a Silk scarf so I can wrap around my hips, after all once i shift back into my legs that party of people should be here. I Don't really want Anyone to see my bits. I'll grab 2 towels, and some soap.
I proceed to go to the Lake. Before I come to the waters edge I get undressed and set my things aside. Then I approached the tranquil lake, a flicker of curiosity danced within me. At this point I have no idea what I look like, so I looked at the water's surface, like a polished mirror, it beckoned me closer. With each step, my heart quickened, unsure of what was waiting for me. And as I finally stood by the edge, peering into the glassy depths, I couldn't help but gasp in utter disbelief.
My white locks flowed like a waterfall, cascading down to my hips. Its ethereal glow seemed to radiate a gentle luminescence, capturing the moonlight's essence. I ran my fingers through the silky strands, grappling to comprehend the transformation that had taken place. How had my once familiar features morphed into something so extraordinary?
Standing at six feet tall, a slight muscularity adorned my frame, reminiscent of a runner's body. The reflection before me showcased a physique that seemed both otherworldly and yet strangely familiar. It was as if a sculptor had meticulously chiseled each curve and line, creating a masterpiece of physical prowess. I couldn't help but stare, awestruck by the sheer handsome visage that stared back at me.
However, what truly captivated me were the intricate details that adorned my merman form. By my ears, translucent fins shimmered, their snowy hue kissed by a subtle dusting of pearlescent magic. The sight left me breathless, questioning the very boundaries of reality. And as my gaze wandered towards my waist, I discovered enchanting scales that glistened with a late afternoon's waning sunlight. They seemed to whisper stories of ancient tales, a testament to the realm from which I had just emerged.
Yet, nothing could prepare me for the most astonishing revelation. As my eyes met their reflection, I witnessed a phenomenon beyond comprehension. They were no longer the static windows to my soul; instead, they transformed, mirroring my emotions with an ethereal dance of colors. Changing colors as they liked, from blue to a Golden pink.
I stood there, naked and vulnerable, my mind reeling with questions and wonder. How had I become this majestic being? The reflection on the lake's surface offered no answers, only a view that left me speechless. In that moment, I couldn't deny the sense of disbelief that coursed through me. And as I continued to gaze upon my reflection, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of awe and gratitude for the goddess how gave me this body.
Coming out of my reverie, I grab my scarf wrap around my hips and tie it. As I start to Wade into the Lake, I start to feel Like tiny ants are Crawling up my legs, I stop when the water is chest deep and take a big breath and dunk my head under the water.
As a strange sensation washes over me. It starts as a tingling in my legs, and I watch in awe as they fuse together, transforming into a shimmering, iridescent tail. Waves of energy ripple through my body, heightening my senses and filling me with an inexplicable excitement.
With each passing moment, my human form dissipates, leaving me with the glorious physique of a merman. My legs are now a magnificent tail, adorned with scales that catch the dimming sunlight, reflecting a myriad of pearly white colors. I feel an immediate connection with the water, as if it welcomes me into its depths with open arms.
As I take my first tentative swim, the coolness of the lake envelops me, and I am overcome with a sense of weightlessness. My tail propels me forward effortlessly, allowing me to glide through the water with grace and ease. It's a feeling beyond imagination, as if I have become one with the lake itself.
The underwater world unfolds before my eyes, revealing a hidden realm teeming with life. Schools of fish dart around me, their vibrant scales flashing in the sunlight that filters through the water's surface. The gentle sway of aquatic plants adds a touch of serenity to the surroundings, creating an ethereal atmosphere.
With newfound gills, I breathe effortlessly, inhaling the crisp, refreshing water. It's a sensation unlike anything I've experienced before, a merging of life force between myself and the lake. I explore the depths, venturing into uncharted territories where sunlight fades, only to be replaced by the faint, mystical glow of bioluminescent creatures.
As I dive deeper, I encounter the inhabitants of the lake, forming connections with the enchanting creatures that call this watery domain home. Through a symphony of clicks, whistles, and gestures, I communicate with them, exchanging knowledge and understanding. It's a language that goes beyond words, a connection forged by mutual respect and curiosity.
It takes me a good three hours to notice the echoes of voices and moving about on the land. I think it's time for my first encounter with the inhabitants of my new home world. I proceed to shore.
