Chapter 8: Juliet

"Juliet, I need your help with something."

"Yes Emperor Cedrik?"

"Not you too. Don't call me Emperor we are on a first name basis."

"Whatever. What do you want?"

"I want you to have a few stealthy members of the Gratus Militubus check in on Eudon and his guards from time to time. If anything strange should happen I want it reported to me immediately."

"Anything else?"

"No, not really. I'm just trying to make sure Eudon and those guarding him are safe."

"I'll get right on that then."

"Actually one more thing."

"And that is?"

"We should, umm, maybe grab something to eat one day."

"We'll see."

As soon as I got out of Cedrik's sight I breathe a sigh of relief. I thought he had finally caught me spying on him. I've always had the biggest crush on Cedrik, and I've been spying on him ever since I can remember. I've enhanced my stealth abilities drastically just from spying on him honestly. My power to create, control, and become smoke already makes me stealthy, but I've enhanced my control over the ability after several close calls. I've watched Cedrik do just about everything. I watch him eat, sleep, and on the best days, I'll catch him in the shower. Some would call me a stalker, but I'd like to think of myself as an artist who's given herself an eternal work of art to study. I always wanted to tell Cedrik how I really feel, but I never can find the words. I guess since he's Emperor now, the least I can do it follow his instructions. I call my best squad for the job, Team Mist. These girls are a set of triplets with mist abilities that is similar to my smoke abilities. They also happen to be my younger cousins. Their names are Misty, Vapora, and Cirra. They look similar to myself, carmel, kinda short, and athletic. Misty has powder blue eyes, Vaporas are a darker, deeper royal blue, and Cirra shares my lavender colored eyes. They are also a tad shorter than I am.

"Okay Team Mist, I need you three to keep an on Eudon and his guards. If anything strange happens, alert me immediately."

"Yes ma'am!"

"Yes ma'am!"

"Yes ma'am!"

And with that their off. I miss those days honestly. We used to go on missions all the time, until we became the nation's leaders that is. I remember once me, Cedrik, and Eudon has a mission together. We had to find and stop the group from robbing their neighboring citizens. At the time I was angry that Eudon came but in hindsight I'm kinda glad, he saved me from awkward moments with Cedrik.

"So your mission is to root out a group that goes by the name of the Turba Lupi. They have been stealing from all of our citizens west of the capital and must be stopped."

"How exactly should we stop them, Emperor Eli?"

"Well Juliet, that's really up to you, but I suggest that you not use unnecessary force. Same goes for you Cedrik, you both can get carried away on these missions. Which is why I'm adding someone to your squad."

"And who is might that be, Dad?"

I sensed his presence almost immediately.

"You summoned me father?"

Prince Eudon appeared in front of us almost out of nowhere. With speed like his, I guess I can't be surprised.

"Eudon I want you to join Cedrik and Juliet on a mission to stop the Turba Lupi from stealing and bullying our citizens. I'm naming you captain of this mission, to ensure everything goes smoothly. You can your start your search and investigation anytime in the next 24 hours. Good luck to you three."
