Chapter 9: Quinn

"What did I do last night?"

I wake up next to two women, and in a pool of sweat. Uh oh, it looks like I drank too much again. But with the stress of Eudon snapping the way he did, who can blame me. I think I need some coffee.

Just as I pour my cup of coffee, I hear a knock at my door.

"Hey Quinn, it's Cedrik."

"Give me one second."

"Step aside Cedrik, I got this!"

Boom!!!

I look up to see Virubus and two bodies where my door once was.

"Bryce that's the second door this week!"

"Hehe, I know! I'll get ya a new one later. But Cedrik needed ya, I'm just here for comic relief."

"Look, we can do that later, right now I'm gonna drink this coffee, Cedrik can come in, and you can come in once I have a new front door!"

"Alright alright, take it easy short stack, I'll be back with a door."

"I'm gonna hurt him next time he makes a short joke. Don't try to stop me either Cedrik."

"Never mind that! I need to set up a few meetings, and I want you to spread the word. The Equos Undecim will meet with the nations elders first. Then we as the Undecim will meet with those who are next in line to command the positions we currently hold. The last will be just the Undecim. I need you to set these up, I have other things I have to finish as Emperor."

"Sure thing, I'll send you the dates I come up with."

"Good, I'll be looking out for you."

Ugh, another boring assignment. I miss the old days when we did real missions. If this really is a book then whoever is writing this holding back all the good stories. Not in this chapter though, I'll tell you about how the Equos Undecim once had to fight the nations elders at their peak.

"Quinn, capture him!!!"

"I got it Eudon!"

I love my power. I use my frost breath to freeze our targets feet to the ground, and my fire breath to melt his body armor off. My fire is blue hot, which allows me to stay all blue, my favorite color. We are on an empty street and we just caught a gang that had been directly threatening the Emperor. Our squad is me, Eudon and Bryce. I look up and see Bryce jumping off of a tall building with two limp bodies in his arms. As he lands, the street crumbles under his feet.

"Aye this is odd, these dudes got all old after you captured your guy Quinn."

"Same happened to these two, what's going on here?!"

Eudon appears behind us with his own two limp bodies. His speed startles me sometimes, Alice and Kalvin are the only ones who are faster, but that's their power. He's still close to them off of his natural speed assisted by his telekinesis.

"Aye your guy isn't getting old. Hey do you know why your partners turned into living cadavers?"

"I-It's my power. I can return people's youth for awhile."

"Well that ain't take much, you must have gave him quite the scare Quinn. I'm guessing we drag these lads back to Emperor Eli?"

"Yes, and especially the one Quinn caught. My father might find his power interesting, maybe even have some fun with it."

"So you can return a person's youth?"

"Y-yes Emperor."
