The next morning, you were delighted to find an even emptier house. And by delighted, you were actually ticked off. You knew their work was important, but they were all gone today. Well, everyone but Pietro who was recovering from a wound he had gotten on a previous mission.

You grit your teeth as you eat a sad bowl of sugary cereal by yourself. You scrubbed the dishes extra hard in rage. That was probably good for the dishes anyway since they were usually cleaned by Loki or Wanda's magic which you thought was kind of weird. So you tended to wash yours because you didn't know if Loki knew the concept of germs due to Asgard's holy cleanliness.

You wondered if he could even get sick. Probably not since he was immortal. You'd have to ask sometime when they were actually here. Ugh.

When you had gathered your school bag, your homework from yesterday, and your phone, you almost made it out the door before the speedster stopped you.

"Hold on, princess," Pietro said, catching the elevator doors. "Let me walk with you."

You gave him a weak smile as he began the descent with you to the bottom floor.

"Y'know, you seem to be a bit down?" he said in his signature accent. It caught you off guard a bit that he even noticed since people's emotions usually flew right over his head.

"Well- I don't know," you looked down at the floor.

"What's wrong, princess?" he asked in a more soothing tone. This prompted you to look up at him, to which you got pleading puppy eyes.

You sighed. "Everyone is always gone during the holidays," you whispered, downcast. You could feel your spirits lowering the second you let the words out. It was true, even though it sounded so lachrymose. You turned back towards the floor as your eyes unwillingly began to water. Tears itching your eyelids as you squeezed them shut, not intending to cry this morning.

"I didn't know that troubled you so much," Pietro muttered, he seemed actually worried about your well-being due to this.

"I just wish I could see you guys more, and have more holiday experiences with you guys. All of you together. But usually, it's just one or two of you and I barely even see my dad," you wept.

"I'm so sorry, princess. Please don't cry! I'll talk to them, then we can try to make amends?" he attempted to give you hope.

"Don't bother telling them, they have jobs to do. I'm less important than saving the world anyway," you stammered, giving him a watery smile.

"Thank you for trying to cheer me up though, Pietro. I really appreciate it," you hugged him before the two of you began walking to school. It had been too long bottling up those emotions. You were bound to crack and it was nice to tell someone. Pietro had promised on your walk that he'd spend as much time with you as possible. But the second he healed, which would be soon, it would not be guaranteed any longer.
