.     Apollo reaches for me and I pull my hand away. "What did I just say?"
He holds his hands up in submission, but the fight seems to have left him. "I'm sorry it's a force of habit. Why can't I touch you?"
I scoff but feel my stomach flip and scold myself. "That is quiet literally none of your business!"
Apollo sighs "I mean you would think with me being your husband and all, but I digress. Could we try being friends?"
I met him in the eyes. "I don't know, I don't think we can be what we were again."
He nods and teaches out his hand for me to shake. "Just friends, and I'll prove to you that I'm worth it."
I take his hand and smile I'm hopeful but cautious which I feel is reasonable all things considered.
As we walk back I see Percy again and decided to go over and speak with him. As of right now he is staring at the bottom of a glass of nectar. "I don't think that is going to refill itself."
He looks up and smiles. "Ah so your back. How was your first with Apollo?"
I shrug, "I really came to try and know you better Percy. I have heard tales of the great Perseus Jackson."
Percy winces at the name. "Please it's just Percy. Believe me there isn't much to know except that I'm pretty awesome."
We both laugh but the smile doesn't quite reach his eye. "You know, I have heard tales of your smile some say it could power the universe with attitude and love. But I don't think that one was real what's wrong Percy?"
He laughs sadly "you would think I'd be better at this, hiding emotions kind of thing. Annabeth broke up with me. She said she had a dream about me, but I had a husband, and you know demigod dreams typically mean something. She said she lived me but couldn't stand to think she was holding me back from my true fate. But the problem is I'm not gay and I just lost the love of my life"
He pulls a ring from his pocket and hands it to me. It's simple gold ring with a flower shaped diamond in the middle that was surrounded by small leaf shaped ones on the back was engraved 'to my future to my past to my now love seaweed brain."
I reach out and grab his hand "I'm so sorry Percy that must be horrible. But maybe it's for the best maybe there is someone out there even better."
He tries a smile and pulls me into a gentle hug. At first I tense but eventually I relax into him. I feel as though I can trust Percy and that terrifies and intrigues me. But I also trust my instincts enough to know that he is someone I will want by my side.
