INT. HELICARRIER DETENTION SECTION - DAY
[Fury runs in finding Agent Coulson still alive, barely.]
Phil Coulson: Sorry, boss. The God rabbited.
Nick Fury: Just stay awake. EYES ON ME!
Phil Coulson: No. I'm clocking out here.
Nick Fury: Not an option.
Phil Coulson: It's okay, boss. This was never going to work... if they didn't have something... to...
[Agent Coulson looks away. Sighs his last breath. Nick Fury looks on grimly at Coulson. The medical team arrives.]
People teared up seeing Coulson die, Natasha and Clint looked at each other.
INT. HELICARRIER BRIDGE - DAY
Nick Fury (V.O.): Agent Coulson is down.
The great hall took a moment of silence and bowed their heads in silent respect for Coulson. Dumbledore even bowed his head not knowing a lot about Coulson but he deserved the respect the Avengers had for him.
[Agent Hill is being treated for a gash on her head, listens on her headset, standing up.]
Shield Agent (Over Natasha's ear piece): Paramedics are on their way to your location.
Nick Fury (Over Natasha's ear piece): They're here.
(Natasha stood frozen in place camera pans onto her face we see a tear escape just one)
The Avengers looked surprised they didn't think Natasha would cry over Coulson's death it seems they were wrong.
Tony squeezed Natasha's shoulder comfortingly as she flinched at showing her emotion.
INT. HELICARRIER PORT SIDE - DAY
[Steve and Tony listen in as well.]
Nick Fury (V.O.): They called it.
INT. HELICARRIER BRIDGE - LATER
[Fury gathers Tony and Steve back into the briefing room, everyone there has a look as if in a daze. A look of numb shock is shown on their devastated faces.]
Tony and Steve shared a sad look.
Nick Fury: These were in Phil Coulson's jacket. Guess he never did get you to sign them.
Tears were falling even more now.
[Fury throws Coulson's CAPTAIN AMERICA TRADING CARDS on the table towards Steve. Steve picks them up, STAINED WITH BLOOD.]
Steve looked guilty, he should've signed the cards sooner.
Nick Fury: We're dead in the air up here. Our communications, location of the cube, Banner, Thor. I got nothing for you. Lost my one good eye. Maybe I had that coming. (A BEAT) Yes, we were going to build an arsenal with the Tesseract. I never put all my chips on that number though, because I was playing something even riskier. There was an idea, Stark knows this, called THE AVENGERS INITIATIVE. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. See if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea, in heroes.
