Hey!!! Everyone!!!!
So I wrote this extra chapter today in the event of receiving so many responses for the book. I can't begin to tell you how happy and grateful I am for all the votes and reads.
I also wanted to tell all of you that I am releasing my 2nd book after two years of gap. I have officially completed college and now it's time for me to pursue my writing career. I am starting slow but I am happy with my progress. I couldn't have gotten all the behind-the-scenes opportunities if it hadn't been for each of you and the time you spent on my book.
So this one is for Leonard and Veronica.
The couple who helped me with my insecurities and pushed me to keep writing a story however imperfect it is for them.
I present to you the BONUS CHAPTER, (The Last and Final).
--------------------
One year and six months later,
Leonard's POV
"You know I hate bow ties," I say to Andrew who was busy ignoring me. He made some sort of knot with the strip of cloth and pat the shape into a very formal-looking bow tie.
"Stop being a baby. It's not every day that I get to make bow ties for you and it's not the first time you're done something that you don't like because of Veronica," He says glancing up at me,
"You're just saying that because you're single."
He tightens the knot around my neck,
"Hey! Easy man,"
He scoffs and lets go of my bow tie. "See, who can tell you're the same Leonard King who used to torture people in underground warehouses? Now, you look like a guy who is completely whipped by his girl,"
I raise an eyebrow, "It's fancy coming from someone who follows a woman who hardly gives any attention to you,"
"Oh, C'mon we both know that she's trying to play hard, and just because she doesn't like me now, that doesn't she won't in the future. Look at me, I am so lovable that you can't help but have me by your side at your own wedding,"
"I never asked you to be my best man dude. You signed it yourself. I was gonna ask Samuel and Spice," I say turning to the mirror. Black tux, a neat undershirt, a bow tie that looks really good on me even though I feel like someone is choking me, and a silk handkerchief in my right pocket.
I look good, neat, ready, and nervous. I didn't wanna admit but I am sweating and it's not because of our summer wedding. It's the last-minute jitters.
To be honest, when I popped the question to Veronica last year during Christmas I never thought a day would come that'll make me so happy and nervous at the same time. I can't begin to tell how much I've waited for this day.
How I counted those nights to let my wedding day be near and have Veronica wear my last name as a vow to our love. I am so nervous right now I feel like my heart is beating near my ear. It's literally loud.
"Well well well, are you having second thoughts?" Andrew asks. He was also in a black tux but less highlighted than mine. A light blue undershirt with a handkerchief in his tux pocket.
I shake my head. Feeling a little light and impatient, "No. I just can't wait anymore."
Forty minutes later, we were at the aisle. White and purple florals peak out from the corners of the open banquet. There was a light humidity in the air, a crisp summer breeze in the openness of the field, and fresh scents of flowers.
The arrangements that Lexi took under her were marvelous. She left no detail in bringing together a whole picture of the wedding. From marble floorings in the middle of the field to centerpieces that Veronica wanted, the flowy curtains touching the elegant setup brought a mixture of country and urban themes.
We were getting married at my farmhouse in London. The English castles rose proudly in our background with green fields and summery sun. I walked to my spot on the altar and waited. Andrew, Samuel, and Spice took their position behind me with my father and Grace sitting on the front seat beside Veronica's Mom.
Within a minute the song starts playing telling us that the bride is entering. It started with Kelly's nine-month-old daughter walking the aisle as a flower girl. She threw purple flowers all over the carpet with her tiny fingers then ran towards her father. Samuel picks her daughter in his arms when Kelly walks with Lexi.
Both of the bridesmaids take their respective places opposite me when the music changed and everyone stood up. My heart feels like it could race a marathon with the speed it was beating inside of me.
Suddenly I am too aware of my reaction, my panic, the nervousness that won't go away before I saw her. Veronica came through the white shadow like a main lead in a film. The white gown hugged her perfectly from top to bottom.
She was holding a bouquet of lilies, a veil harboring her face from me. She stops near the step and I automatically reach my hand out. She held it with her delicate fingers and slowly I pulled her up.
"Hey, you!" She says raising her head.
"I want to kiss you," I say,
Her cheeks redden. We have been together for three years and yet I can make her blush. It definitely boosts my ego but right now I really want to take off her veil and kiss the hell out of her.
"You can in a minute," She says,
"Why does one minute sound so long?"
She laughs at the double meaning making my heart flutter even more with love. I slowly interlock our fingers and stared at her as the pastor began his reading. The world behind us disappeared as quickly as our love story began.
Who knew what started as a silly game for a chip turned out to be something so much more than life? I think it's true when people say god has planned out bigger things for us. I saw mine in this aisle as I vow to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life.
"I do," We both say. A big smile on our lips, those nervous jitters were long because now I finally got what was always mine.
I pull my wife and crushed our lips together. In front of our families and friends, we became one. "Hey husband," she says in between our kisses.
I smile and bite her lower lips, "Hey wifey,"
