Leonard's pov

After last night, it's easy to say that I'm officially tired. Not only did Veronica hug me the entire night, she even fell asleep in my arms.

I had to stay like that in the living room while she was sleeping in my arms. Even my slightest movement of picking her up or adjusting my position was waking her, so I didn't have any option except stay like that with her.

Not that I'm complaining, the sound of her breathing and her face resting so closely near my heart was already enough for the pain my back will face tomorrow.

I even found myself drifting off sooner than expected, it wasn't until six in the morning that I felt the sunlight on my face that woke me up. I looked down to see her still sleeping.

I tried to pick her up and move her to the bedroom when she slowly shifted and cup my waist with her hands, nuzzling closer to my neck.

I bit my lips and look at the ceiling that seems like a great place to divert my attention and breathe normally,

Thankfully, she didn't make any movements after that, so I assumed she was back to sleep, and taking advantage of it I softly pick her up and walk towards my bedroom.

I lay her down and cover her with the blankets and slowly my eyes meets her closed ones; even after crying she looked pretty but I can't ignore the fact that,

They looked swollen and her nose was a little red, she was breathing through her mouth that told me her nose was blocked.

I rushed down to my study room and search the medicine box, there has to be nose drops in them. Andrew keeps a note of my medicine box so he might have gotten the drops,

As soon as I open the box, I find the drops and hurried my way to the bedroom, she was sleeping with a blocked nose the entire night. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it must have been for her, no wonder she was so restless.

I give her the drops and stood there watching her breathe normally. Now that she was sleeping peacefully I was relaxed for a second but a sudden hit of my sore muscles reminded me that my back was stiff and in pain,

"Fuck" I lean against the wall and move my arms up and down, did a little crackling of muscles, and massaged my neck but it was all useless.

The pain was already there but since my mind was occupied with Veronica I didn't notice the pain but now after assuring that she's sleeping without any problems my mind is back and can't stop thinking about the sore muscles.

I slowly went down to the living room and got myself some coffee before calling my assistant and taking a day off.

I quickly prepared a bath for myself and for a good one hour I didn't get up. The hot water was doing magic to my muscles and the fragrance from the soap balls was enough to drift me off.

When I woke up, the temperature of the water was down and there were bubbles on the floor. I carefully got up and rinse myself before throwing a pair of sweatpants.

The bath not only relaxed me it even eased the pain in my back. It wasn't aching like before but I still needed to take the painkillers.

I walk across the dining room and took some meds before hurrying down to the kitchen and prepare some breakfast for her.

I was kinda hungry too so, a simple light breakfast like bacon sandwiches with a fruit bowl is enough to replenish the drained energy. I even prepared some chamomile tea for Veronica cause she might be feeling a little drowned with all the crying,

I take a big bite from the sandwiches when I heard some noises and saw her tirelessly walking down the stairs.

"What time is it?" her voice was sleepy,
