“Be my disciple.”

Even in his painful state, he laughed. “You are actually asking me to be your disciple? If you can poison me, you can also know that I am still a newbie in fighting. My knowledge is limited and I don't know you. So why would you want me to be your disciple?”

“I won't tell you. But you have no choice but to be my disciple.” The man said and made him sit on the floor and go behind him. Then he felt a force from behind and the pain on his body disappeared. He was about to get up when the man knocked him up and he became unconscious.

When he wakes up, the first thing he sees is a house with different instruments and equipment on every wall of the wooden room he is in. He immediately gets up and looks around. He can see a sword on its scabbard and was put in a sculpted rack of a peach blossom tree. Different daggers hanging on the wall. An arrow and bow, books and scrolls on the shelf, a guqin, harp, and a flute.

He got tired looking everywhere and decided to go out of the room. While looking around, he can tell that he is in a secluded area and according to what he can hear, it is in the middle of a forest.

The house' main door is not hard to find because the house is not that big. When he went out, he immediately saw the man who saved him, practising some sort of a sword technique. He didn't want to disturb him so he just watched him and made a mental note of the technique he was making at the same time.

When the man finished, he immediately looked at where he was standing so get up properly before walking towards him. “Where am I?”

The man sat on the chair. “You're in my house. Do you still feel hurt?”

He feels himself and he doesn't feel any pain anymore. “Not anymore.”

“Good. Then you should do the ritual now.”

His forehead creased. “Huh?”

The man sighed. “I remember that I didn't hit your head somewhere while I was carrying you on my back while going here, so I know you still remember my condition of curing your poison.” the man said.

Then he remembered what condition the man was telling him. “But, sir, I don't know you. Why are you needing a disciple? Are you one from those prestigious sects? I assume you are not a deity because I can tell that you are just in your 20s.”

And for the first time, the seriousness of the man broke and he laughed his soul out, making him curious. “I'll take that as a compliment. Kid, I'm definitely not as young as what your eyes see. And I am not from a sect nor a deity. I am just a simple martial artist who is wandering alone in this world. And I already have enough experience and gained techniques so I needed a disciple to pass it on.”

“But, I am not good at everything.”

The man smirked. “Not yet, but I assure you, after two years in seclusion, you will definitely learn techniques with me.”

“What are the odds?”

The man smiled. “Nothing, just be who you are and always think of a reason why you want to be a martial artist.”

He nodded. “Fine. I am willing to be your disciple.” He said and kneeled on the ground. “Master, please receive my knowledge for you.” He said and kowtowed.

“Get up now.” He heard his master say so he got up and went near him and poured tea for his master. “What is your name and how old are you now?”

He finished pouring before he answered. “Master, my name is Wei Xin. I am already 16 years old.”

His master nodded. “Wei Xin, do you have any talent? Like singing or playing any instruments?”
