They arrived at the Liquor deity before lunch and the smell of liquors immediately invaded their nostrils as they got off their horses and knocked on the gate. They were expecting to see their master in the house but a man who did the same thing again came out and looked at them. “Who are you?”
He immediately bowed to all of them before he answered his question. “I am Wei Xin. A disciple of a deity. They are my friends. Mei Wude, a disciple of the Guqin wind deity. Pan Xixi, disciple of the Harp sound deity. Then Liu Mengxin, disciple of the knowledge deity and the last one... ”
“Lao Linxiu.”
They all looked at him and looked at Linxiu who was also surprised to hear her name comes from a stranger. “You two know each other?!” they asked in unison.
Linxiu shook her head but the man nodded so they all looked at him. “How do you know her?” he asked.
“How would I not know my girlfriend?”
They are even more shocked with the revelation. “Girlfriend?!”
Lao Linxiu immediately went in front with an angry face. “Ah, are you crazy? We are not in a relationship because you know what you have done!”
“What...”
“You cheated on me, remember?”
“I...”
“Don't tell me you don't. Well, news flash, I am ready. I captured everything with my water mirror and you have no reasons for denial.” Linxiu said and immediately used her fan to make the water out and the water made a flat circle and there it mirrored everything like what she said.
“I will ne...”
She cuts him off again. “I will never hear any of your explanations anymore!” She said and went behind. He heard Xixi ask Linxiu if she knew that this is the house of her boyfriend and he immediately heard her answer. “He is not my boyfriend and yes, I never knew that his house was here. Look how pathetic I am? I was in a relationship with him for a year and I never knew about his personal life except that his name is Xiao Li and he lives in the magistrate house as a guard.”
“Actually, Xiao Li is not my real name.”
Linxiu walked in front again in rage and even pushed the man in anger. “What did you say?! You mean, you have been lying to me about your life the whole time?! Then, I assume that you are not a magistrate's worker then?! And if you are not Xiao Li, then who are you? Who is the man who's hiding inside of this alias?”
“I am Xin Lu. I am a disciple of the deity of liquor and that time when we were in a relationship, my master sent me to the magistrate to be their help because they asked for help from my master. And it took me almost a year staying there and my master told me not to disclose my real self to anybody so I used the name I used to get inside the magistrate office. Sorry.”
Linxiu just shrugged off Ciao Li's explanations. “Nevermind. Just go on with your life and I'll go with mine. Wei Xin, tell him our purpose of coming here now so we can leave the soonest.”
He immediately nodded and looked at Xiao Li. “Mister Xiao Li, we are here today because our masters have told us that they are having an important appointment with the liquor deity. And we just came here to make sure that they really are here so we can feel at ease.”
“But, my master has also bid goodbye to me yesterday and told me that he needs to go where he should be at. And I thought he just went somewhere to look for another inspiration to make liquor.”
“How come? My master clearly told me that he will have a wine tasting with the liquor deity.” he heard Mengxin murmured and was seconded by the three.
