-Oliver’s POV-

I slowly get up out of bed at the sound of my alarm for work. I stretch my arms wide and release a long drawn out yawn. As I close my mouth once again I walk to my closest. I pick out my nice blank hoodie and a pair of kneeless black jean pants. I pull out a pair of fresh underwear and socks along with my clothes. I take all of the clothing in the bathroom so I can take a nice hot shower.

Once I get out of the shower I walk up to the bathroom mirror and style my hair, as I do I can’t help but think about Logan. I mean he did call it a date Sunday and I told him I wasn’t against it, but maybe just maybe he wasn’t serious about that. The doubts in my head run rapidly as I finish up my morning routine before I head out to the Cafe.

When I finally got my thoughts together I was inside Fur Cafe. I clock in then start putting things together just like Lyla showed me on my first day. While I was grinding more coffee beans I’m scared to death I heard someone scream, “BOOO!” I turned around fast while latching onto my chest, only to discover it was Lyla. “What the fuck Lyla? You could’ve given me a heart attack, and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to visit me in the hospital anymore.” She is still laughing hysterically, “oh oh oh my god, I got you so good. I think I peed myself.” I fake laugh back, “ha ha very funny.”

Eventually she straightens up and says, “seriously now, I’m so excited for your return.” She smiles at me as she hands me my apron and name tag once again. I just shake my head as she then goes about helping me with the set up. Once we are done we flip the close sign to open and begin serving customers when they come in.

-Logan’s POV-

I slowly open my eyes at the sound of the high pitched screeches of my alarm. I swing my arm around and slam it on the alarm several times, missing the snooze or stop button several times. Eventually I lean up out of bed, rub the sleep from my eyes then tap the stop button on the dreaded loud pitched ringing. Once it was silenced I let out a loud yawn followed with a scratch at my chest fur.

I look at the time and see that I still have plenty of time to get a shower, get dressed, and get a coffee from the cafe. I smirked as I quickly grabbed my scrubs from my dresser, along with a fresh pair of underwear. I move even faster as I realize, the faster I get going the more time I will have to talk to Oliver. My smile is quickly accented with a bright red blush as I think of that cute human boy. I look up at nothing in particular as I say a thank you.

Once I’m out of the shower I quickly dry my fur with a blow dryer and quickly put on my underwear followed by my scrubs. I put on the necklace that Oliver gave me, grab my bag, and finally grab my keys from the hook before running out to my little SUV.

I smile at the thoughts of Sunday dance in my head. I wondered how long Oliver had liked me, or if he just developed feelings for me because I was there. I don’t really like that second option but I know that I’ve liked him for a very long time. I smile at the thought of him helping me turn that little sectioned off part of my backyard into a memorial garden for Nathan.

I stop at a stop light and that gives me enough time to look at the time. I smile as I see that I still have a good 45 minutes left before I have to clock in. The red light turns green and I turn towards the cafe. As I pass by the neighboring businesses I smile at the sight of one of them.

-Oliver’s POV-

I walk around the tables and ask if anyone needs anything. A teenage deer anthro speaks up, “hey there is there anyway I can get some extra whipped cream put on top?” I nod, “sure sir, I’ll be right back.” I go behind the counter and grab the whipped cream dispenser. I start walking back around the counter as Lyla steps back around the counter.

“Hey Oliver, table three gave you a tip. It’s freaking $20, how the hell do you do that?” I smile, “this smile and lots of practice in patience.” She rolls her eyes as she pulls a rag from her pocket and snaps it at me. I laugh and continue on about giving that nice young deer man his whipped cream.

The man thanks me and gestures for me to kneel down. I do as he says as he whispers, “how about you and me go to the hotel down the street and I give you some of my cream.” I cringe a bit then quickly lean up, as I start to laugh to cover it up as a joke. I turn so he doesn’t see my face as I make a disgusted face.

I grip the whipped cream dispenser a bit more, and when I do it slips from my hand and hits the ground right on its tip. The dispenser is now shooting whipped cream right back at me and I’m desperately trying to cover it in hopes to control this monster of a mess. I sigh when it eventually stops and I pick it up. I take a single step towards the back and immediately slip in the whipped cream.

I literally land with my back on the ground and with my head right in front of the door. “This couldn’t get any worse,” I grumble under my breath. Of course it could though as Logan walks into the store with a confused look on his face. I smile then blush hard as I attempt to get up off the floor. He chuckles then holds his hand out to me. “Here let me help you up.” I smile and take his hand, “thanks Logan, I kinda made a mess of the whipped cream.”

He chuckles a bit more, “I can see that, but are you ok.” With the last part he looks at me in all seriousness. “Yeah I’m ok, the fall didn’t even hurt. I think it just hurt my ego a bit.” He rolls his eyes, “it could never do that to the great Oliver.” I roll my eyes then make my way to the employee bathroom. I take one of the long towels and wipe away as much of the whipped cream as I can.

Once I’m somewhat clean I walk back out to the tables. I’m shocked to see that the remaining whipped cream was already cleaned up. I see Lyla walk around a table, so I decide to thank her. “Thanks Lyla for cleaning that whipped cream up.” She looks at me confused then says, “I didn’t do that, Logan did. All I did was get the mop water ready and put it beside the bathroom.” I roll my eyes, “I shoulda known.”

I walk up to the bar and see Logan sittintg on one of them, but what really catches my eyes is the fact that he is hiding something under the table in his lap. I can’t really tell what it is but I kinda wanna know. “Sorry about that Logan, and thank you for cleaning it even though you didn’t have to.” He smiles back at me then says, “no problem, I just don’t want you hurt before Sunday.”

I blush as I say, “aww that’s so sweet of you.” He blushes at me then pulls the mystery item out from under the table. “I bought these from the flower store a little down the strip.” What he’s holding is a bouquet of roses, but not just any roses. “Awww Logan you remembered that purple roses are my favorite.” I sniff the sweet aroma of the flowers and smile as I exhale, “thank you.” Logan rubs the back of his neck, “well since we are going on a date Sunday I wanted to do the right thing.”

My worries are immediately put to bed about him thinking this isn’t a real date. “I’m so excited and nervous honestly.” He looks at me a bit shocked, “what do you mean Oliver?” I smile as I look at the roses then slowly up towards him. “I thought you were gonna say something around the lines of, oh I didn’t mean it like a date or something like that. Instead you meant it and I can’t tell you how long I waited for that.”

-Logan’s POV-

I stare back into his gorgeous eyes as they finally look at me as he says the words I’ve wanted to hear for the longest time. “Really Oliver, You have liked me for that long?” I thought for a moment, “but what about you know who.” Oliver shrugs his shoulders, “I know it’s stupid but I really think that I was only ever with him because I was scared of being alone. He was my boyfriend when my grandmother passed.”

I watch a single tear run down his face. “Oliver, I wish I could go back in time so I could be there for you, so that you would’ve never gone through what you did.”  He shakes his head, “it’s ok Logan, now you might wanna get going for work.” Oliver places a black freshly ground coffee in front of me. I smirk at him, “your right, I’ll see you later ok?” He nods with a smile, “of course now get going before you get into any trouble.” I laugh then run out the door and directly to my vehicle. I get in crank it up and drive to the hospital, all the while having Oliver on my mind. The fact he wanted to be with me for a long time just makes me so happy. At this point I basically skip through the hospital doors and clock in, so I can get the day over with.
