I had a numerous amount of questions flowing through my head. Why would my dad make a deal like that? My suitcase was already packed and ready to go. I didn't know how to make an appearance again after the major scene I had just caused an hour ago. I looked at myself in the mirror and my skin looked pail like never before. My eyes are puffy red and my bags were eating me alive. I didn't realize how bad my stress was getting because of school. I don't rest as much and now I have scary bags under my eyes. Just my luck. I was trying to cover it up with a bit of makeup as I heard my door slowly opening.

"Hello? Kaitlyn dear?"

"yes? who's there?"

"It's Me, Brandy Landis, may I come in?"

"Of course Mrs.Landis, come in."

"Hello, honey are you okay?

"Yes, just have a bad headache that's all"

"Oh! would you like me to go bring you some tea to help sore down the pain?"

"No thank you Mrs.Landis, thank you for the offer though but i'll be fine"

"Oh dear, call me Brandy! I'l be your mother in law soon! oh sorry honey i didn't mean to-"

"It's no problem, i'm just going to have to deal with it. It's just something new that i'll eventually have to adapt to."

"Yes. Kaitlyn darling, i'm sorry about your mother acting that way with you. I'm sorry, I know it' none of my business but I know how it feels like to have your mother mistreat you."

"No really it's fine. Brandy, if you don't mind me asking, was your mother like that with you?"

"Yes honey. She was. Unfortunately I went through what you did an hour ago. I was also forced to marry someone I didn't love."

My eyes widened in absolute shock.

"Really? but why?"

"Well it was a business type of thing. You see, my dad and my husband's dad were always good friends and since they own the top best businesses, they swore to each other that they'd always help one another with their businesses. When my dad's company was going down the drain, Mr.Landis's dad helped bring it back up. In return they made a deal that me and Michael will get married. It's all business honey. Now you and my son are getting married because my husband helped your dad when his company was going down. "

"Oh, I understand now. However, why did they make a deal that me and you son have to get married?"

"Well, because now my son took over the company and we want to keep it as family helping family."

"I understand. One thing though is that i'll never fall in love with your son..."

Hahah, I know this is something new but love comes in different ways. I said the exact same thing when I was told I was going to marry Michael but slowly I gained feelings for the man. I fell in love with him and it was unexpectedly. We fell in love and then Jake came in the picture. I'm so thankful. Maybe that'll happen with you and my son. He can be tough to deal with but he's worth it," said Mrs.Landis with a smile.
