Well, I guess you could say I'm like the average girl...at first glance. My life isn't perfect by any means. As a matter of fact, it's quite far from that way over-used adjective.

I guess my life really changed on that cold, foggy night. (I guess this is is where I should simultaneously plunge into a flashback)
"Hey, bonfire at my house," texted my best friend Carmen.
"Hell yeah! I'll be there at 10-ish. I'm gonna get some 'shit'.. If you know what I mean ."
(Okay, so by now you should be catching on to my lack of the term gooody-goody.)
"I thought you said you were done with drinking, Sammie!"
"Well, honestly I thought I was too... But lately things have been pretty 'over the edge' at home.."
"Sammie, how's that supposed to help anything?"
"Carmen, you wouldn't understand. Okay?"
"Sam! What's gotten into you?!" Gawfed Carmen.
"Never mind Carmen. Go help your dad do something. I have to go."
.......no reply.
Later on that night, I showed up at Carmen's house. I showed up lacking the alcohol I had spoken of earlier that day due to my conscience eating away at me for being so harsh to her. As I was aproaching the front door to her large, elaborate brick home, I noticed a boy about my age standing near the bush by her porch. He was about three or four inches taller than me, and looked slightly built. He was just standing there with his hands in the pockets of the hoodie he was wearing, and the hood up. It seemed like he wasn't moving his eyes, yet absorbing everything around him... Right as I stepped onto the bottom step of her front porch, his eyes met mine. Dark, yet bright with the sight of a new stranger. I froze. My heart started beating fast as I absorbed every detail of his face.. Then of his clothing and the way he stood. He stood with such a demeanor that said he wasn't wanting to fight. I trusted it. I waited, in hopes that he'd speak.
"H-hi," he said while shyly running a hand through his dark brown, shiny hair. It was almost as though he read my mind.
"Hey," I said blushing. I couldn't get over how he ran his hand through his hair. I had time to examine, and come to the conclusion that he was very attractive, in the light of the front doorway.
