As they were leaving, Jungwon's steps stopped. "Hyung, we didn't put the stuff back in the prop room," he said and went back to the practice room. He instructed others to leave since they worked really hard today; they must be very tired by now.
He picked up the stuff and went towards the prop room, walking happily with a chill mind. He took some bouncy steps before he reached the prop room.
He twisted the handle, and all the objects dropped from his hand. It was a sight he had never imagined to see. The door shut closed within seconds.
Jungwon's already big eyes turned even bigger, the small veins in them filled with blood. Anger rose in his veins as the blood did.
----
Jay saw Jungwon coming towards him. "Hey, Jungwon, can you put this back too? I almost took it home."
Jungwon ignored Jay and walked past him. Jungwon's steps were heavy and fast, the thumping from his steps a warning for people to stay away from him.
Jay ran towards him and grabbed his hand. "Hyung, let go," his voice was strict and firm. He was not in the mood to play around.
"What happened?" Jay asked.
Jungwon's aura right now was so creepy that it was hard to ignore. It didn't take Jay seconds to realize that the cat leader had now turned into an angry lion.
Going near him could even cost someone their life. For Jay, it was a sign that the younger needed him right now.
"Hyung, let go," he struggled to remove Jay's hand which had a tight grip.
"Hyung!!" He angrily said.
"Yang Jungwon!!" Jay shouted back. Even though Jungwon was mad, there was absolutely no need for him to act this way.
---
They stood at the edge of the terrace, cold air brushing through their hair as they leaned on the railing.
Jay handed Jungwon a bottle of cold water. "Thanks," Jungwon said, now a bit calmer but still with lingering anger.
"What happened?" Jay asked him in a serene voice.
"Nothing," Jungwon replied. He wasn't sure whether he should tell the older about their secret or wait for them to reveal it to the members themselves.
"Looking at how mad you are, it has to be something related to the members. Are they putting down our promotional interview, or are they asking for the removal of any one particular member, like they did last time? Wait, don't tell me, is our tour getting canceled? No, that can't be," Jay panicked as he overthought.
It's true, though. Whenever it comes to the members, Jungwon turns into a mother grizzly bear.
One time, a big brand asked to remove Niki from the ambassador's list just because he was caught up in a bullying scandal. Not an exaggeration, but Jungwon literally pounced on the people who wanted this to happen. In the end, they had to terminate the contract for the same.
"Hyung can stay quiet for a moment. I am not in the mood to joke around."
"Fine," Jay mumbled and pouted. "But I hope you know that you can share anything with me."
The atmosphere went silent for a little while before Jungwon spoke again.
"Aghh, I am so disappointed... I don't know how to even say it," Jay listened quietly as Jungwon let out his thoughts.
"I think... Jake hyung and Heeseung hyung are dating," he turned around and leaned his back on the same spot.
"I wouldn't say I'm surprised," Jay's tone was calm.
"What?!!"
"Come on, Jungwon. I'm sure you also felt sometimes or other that they have a thing going on.
We live together, and there is hardly anything we don't know about each other. I've been sensing this since last year when we were on the manifesto tour."
"You knew about this and decided to stay quiet?" Jungwon questioned.
"Saying that I knew about it is not right. I am surprised that they are 'actually dating,' but yeah, I kinda had the idea."
"You would've at least stopped them, hyung. Have you even thought about what will happen if anyone else comes to know about this?"
"I understand you're worried, but don't you think we should support them? It must have been so hard for them too," Jay empathized.
"I know you are angry and you feel betrayed, yet you should try to understand them.
You can't deny that they must be feeling worse than you.
Love is not under our control, Jungwon-ah. We can fall in love with anyone, anywhere.
And considering how they both have shared more than three years of their life together, it's natural that they have developed feelings for each other.
Don't you think they also must have thought a lot before committing to each other?"
---
Jungwon was sitting in the middle of the couch with his hands and legs crossed.
He was waiting for Jake and Heeseung to come back home, his expression cold, his eyebrows knitted together.
All the members were confused, but no one would dare to disturb the silence.
Sunghoon raised his eyebrows and mouthed, 'What happened?' Sunoo shrugged, as he also didn't know anything about the situation.
"Why are they not home yet?" Niki was worried for them, as he connected the dots and understood that the leader was actually mad at them.
"Let me call them." It was late, but Heeseung and Jake weren't home yet.
"Hello." Thankfully, Heeseung picked up.
"When are you coming back home?" he asked.
"I'll be back soon, don't worry."
"Is Jake with you?" Jay asked. Jungwon raised his head to look at Jay, whose phone was on speaker.
"Okay, try to hurry," he said and cut the call.
---
After fifteen minutes, the door opened, revealing Heeseung; behind him was Jake.
Jake's head was hanging low; he didn't want his members to see his red and puffy eyes.
As they entered the dorm door, the feeling of guilt hit him again, and new tears slowly started to fill his eyes.
Both of them walked quietly across the room before Jungwon stood up and stopped them.
