"Get prepared for supper," Martha commands as soon as I walk in the front door. I shrug off my duffle-bag and hand it to George, our butler, who was holding the front door open.

I hated living here. Yes, my opinion is strongly unpopular, but I would rather live on the streets than here. The grand beige halls and the marble floors do not make me happy. The butler and the 20 maids do not make me happy. What would make me happy is a family that I do not have.

"Mom, if it's really important then why don't you just-" Martha cuts me off. "Do as I say." She glares at me, which makes me start moving up our glass staircase, which towered our marble entryway.

My footsteps echoed throughout the halls as I walk towards my room, which was thankfully, only on the second floor. I open up my door and creep in the nearly empty space.

All that contained in my room was a twin sized bed, a dresser, and a small closet which could only fit my duffle-bag. It's not like I didn't like decorating my room, but how can you decorate your room when you spend nearly 24/7 dancing on the weekends?

With those depressing thoughts settled, I rummaged through my dresser in hopes I find a loose t-shirt with some baggy jeans.

Once I found those items I slipped inside my own private bathroom and took a shower right after I took out my bun.

After 15 minutes, I dried off and clothed myself. Not caring for what my dirty blonde hair looked like at the moment, I took my sweet time getting to the dining room for supper.

"It takes you 30 minutes to get ready and you come down looking like that?" She gasps and points a bony finger at me. I rolled my eyes in response and sat across from her at the dining table.

The front door slams open and I turn around to see my step-dad, William Joyenne with a concerned look stained on his face. "Are you alright with this?" He asks mom as he points to me. We exchange glances. Mom then clears her throat.

"Why shouldn't I be alright with Allison?" She asks innocently.

"That vermin left her bike on my lawn, my beautiful green lawn." He complains.

"Then get her a car so she doesn't misuse your driveway ever again." Mom suggests calmly as if his words didn't affect her.

"Fine." He growls and sits at the head of the table. He gives me a nasty look before yelling at George. "Hurry up in the kitchen well you? I got pigs to feed!"

"Dinner will arrive shortly Master Joyenne." George announces and hurries back into the kitchen.

"So mom, what's the news?" I finally ask her as she adjusts her white blouse.

"Oh we have signed you up to audition for the dance nationals this January." She announces with a smile, which shows her glistening white teeth.

"Yeah and good riddance too," William adds as I feel my mouth hang open.

Oh no, they didn't.
