I never believed in love at first sight honestly, but who was that cute kid sitting in that booth?
"Uh Ally, who are you staring at?" Claire asks and my previous thoughts evacuate from my mind as I realized I must've been imagining things. But why would I imagine a stranger?
"I thought I saw someone." I answer innocently. She gives me a weird look, but doesn't say anything else about it as we moved up in the long line for some ice cream.
After a few minutes of patiently waiting, Claire speaks up with a frustrated voice. "Why can't it go any faster?!"
"I don't know, why can't it?" I playfully ask her and she lets out another groan.
"I'm going to freshen up, save my spot." She says at once and hurries off to the bathroom without giving me time to reply with an "okay".
"So do you usually check out guys as they eat ice cream?" Someone asks from behind me. I internally groan and wished that I was actually imagining him. Just knock me out already!
I slowly turn around to see him towering over me by a foot or two. A amused smile is plastered on his face and I find myself shrinking away to conceal my embarrassment that was shown on my cheeks.
"Well?" He questions and waits patiently for an answer as I attempt to make up one.
"Um...well....not always." I blush and he grins at my response.
"What's your name?" He asks smoothly and I find myself not ever taking my eyes off his delicious dimples.
"Al...Alli....Allison." I stutter and felt like smacking myself. "But you can call me Ally."
"Nice to meet you Ally, I'm Gavin." He grins and his dimples appear once again, which makes my heart flutter. My eyes widen as he fixes his swavy blonde hair, which covered a part of his bright blue eyes.
"Who's your guy friend?" A voice comes out of no where. I sheepishly grin at Claire as she approached us. She crosses her arms and demands an answer. "Gavin."
"And who may you be?" Gavin asks Claire.
"A stranger." She replies sweetly, but only earns a chuckle out of Gavin. I nudge Claire in the shoulder as I hoped she will start behaving.
"I have to go take ice cream back to my little brothers at home." He says. "I will see you around Alice."
"That's not her name!" Claire yells to him, but it was already too late. He was already out the door and the only thing she earned from yelling was getting a few looks from a couple of parents.
"It's alright." I say in a trance as images of his enchanted dimples play over and over in my mind. "I love the name Alice."

"Okay, maybe eating sundaes were a bit of a bad idea in chilly weather." Claire manages to say without her teeth chattering again. I chuckle though I was regretting that decision as well. We both shut the doors to her convertible at the same time and ran inside Claire's house.
"Hello sweetie." Claire's mother says as she hugs Claire. I took notice that Claire's mother had gotten older. Her blonde hair has lightened almost to a white and she has gained more wrinkles than a 90 year old.
Once Claire's mom finally notices me, I give her a soft smile. "So I've heard you have auditions this December, and if you make it, then off to Nationals in January!" She says with excitement twinkling in her eyes.
"Yeah.." I respond with less enthusiasm, but she didn't take notice to it.
"Okay girls, I have a lot of paperwork to tend to, make yourselves at home." She grins and walks down the hallway. It has been a long time since I've been at Claire's place and it definitely changed. The whole house went from a traditional homey look to a modernized rich home, which made me wonder how that happened. Maybe her mother got a promotion?
As if Claire read my thoughts, "All from target."
"Oh." I reply and follow her down the hallway into her room.
I need to go to Target then.
