He wasn't there. I knew he wouldn't be, but I had to hope he would be. Why couldn't I just turn his offer down so he won't get hurt like this. Did he feel rejected? I hoped not. I better call him. I dialed his number and listened to the ringing. "Hey this is Gavin Halls. Sorry I can't answer the phone right now, please leave a message and I will get back to you-" I ended the call and tucked my phone back in my duffle bag.

"Here." I looked up and saw Daniel offering a tissue. Why would I need-wait, have I been crying? I thanked him for the tissue and before he could walk away, I jumped off the curb and hugged him.

At first, He was startled, but he eventually hugged me back.

I took a step back from him and stared at him. His dark, messy hair covered his brown eyes. He looked cute, but then again, he always was. I offered him a sad smile. Only when Claire said something, I broke the eye contact. "I looked for him throughout the ice cream parlor and I can't find him." She says and then hugs me tightly.

"So, was this like a date?" Daniel asks as I see him tighten up.

"Of course not," Claire answers for me as she fixed up her red hair. "She wouldn't go on a date looking like that." She points to me and I feel embarrassment written on my cheeks. I watch as Daniel's eyes soften. "Why don't I buy us ice cream?"

"Sounds good to me babe." Claire smiles and pecks Daniel on the cheek. I felt jealousy bubbling through me, but not because of her having Daniel, but because I was going to be single. Well, Gavin and I weren't official, but I like to think we were.

"Thanks, but no thanks." I quickly say and jog away from them.

I guess they didn't follow me nor cared for I was already home by 3:30. My feet were sore and I was glad to be off my feet. I felt myself sink into the bed and drifted off for a nap.

I took in my surroundings and realized I was in a gourmet restaurant. I was sitting on a red cushioned chair at a table for two. Gavin was in front of me wearing a fancy suit, which included a pink tie. I looked down to see if I was wearing my Easter outfit since that was the only fancy thing I owned. I was marveled at the sight of a silky pink ball gown that twinkled little stars on the ceiling. I felt like a princess.

"Gavin?" I question. "Is this real?"

"It's as real as you want it to be, Alice." He says smoothly and lifts up his glass of, wait, is that white wine? I looked from his glass to him and realized Gavin was morphing into Daniel? Gavin's blue eyes morphed into chestnut colored eyes. The hair went from a wavy blonde to a messy brown and the bodies went from wimpy to more musclier. By the time the change finished, my mouth was hanging open. "Ally, is something wrong?"

"But your-your with Claire?" I wondered and slowly backed away from the table. I ended up tripping on my dress and falling backward. I looked down at my dress to see the gown deflating like a balloon and morphing into my Easter dress.

"No, I dumped her for you." He grins as he comes close to me.

"Wher-where's Gavin?" I frantically ask as I crawled away. I heard him chuckle from behind me.

"Well, after you gave him a painful rejection, no one could talk him out of committing suicide." He grins and I see his white smile morph into a yellow one.

"NO!" I screamed so loudly that all the glasses shattered and somehow I was now surrounded by flames. This has to be a dream, it just has to!

I jolted awake and felt myself clutching my chest. Was that real? Did that actually happen? I dragged my hand through my hair and realized my hand was soaking wet. Have I been sweating? I carefully walked into my bathroom and checked myself in the mirror.
