"Hello?" I whisper into my phone. It was 3:00am and my parents would kill me if I was awake this late, especially on a school night.

"Hey Alice." A voice comes through the phone.

"Um, who are you and how did you get my number?" I ask as I tried to figure out myself who I'm speaking to.

"Gavin, the boy you stalked at the ice cream parlor two days ago?" He responds and I could see him smirking as he says that. I felt butterflies as I imagined his dimples, his cute little dimples.

"Oh I remember, blonde hair, and bright blue eyes that remind me of the sea?" I question as I felt the heat of embarrassment laying in my cheeks. Thank god he can't see me right now.

"Your not hitting on me, are you?" He chuckles through the phone.

"N...no." I mumble since that question caught me off guard.

"Aw, I wish you were Alice. It would of made it easier to..." He pauses for so long that I started to think he was never gonna finish. "Ask you out."

"Alice, will you like to go out with me?" He confidently asks.

"Wait...I just met you," I pause for a few seconds, before asking, "is this a dream?"

"No Alice, it isn't a dream. Do you believe in love at first sight?" He asks. I was about to say, 'funny that you asked that because those were the exact thoughts that ran through my mind when I saw you for the first time'.

There's no way I'd say that.

Instead, "if we were to go out, where'd you take me?"

"Sundae's?" He questions.

"Yes, just text me the time and I will be there." I feel a smile tugging at my lips. I try to keep myself composed, I didn't need him to hear me squeal like a pig.

A brief image of us in the sunset daunts in my mind. His locks, gold ones, glimmer in the sunset-

"Goldilocks? As in the tale?" He chuckles. "That's original."

"No-" the door creaks open, which causes me to toss my phone and dive under the covers of my pink bed spread. Yeah, talk about adrenalin rush.

"See? I told you. You were just imagining things." I hear my mother whisper.

"Sorry Martha, maybe I was just imagining things." My step-father whispers back and I hear the door ease back shut.

As soon as I heard their footsteps retreating, I quickly grabbed the phone and settle back in my bed.

"Hello?" I whisper into the phone. "Gavin, you there?"

"So about those gold locks you were admiring?" I hear his voice and my face breaks into a smile.

"Goldilocks, hm, sounds like a nickname," I reply.

"I like it, Alice." He responds.

"Um," I hesitate a little. "It's actually Allison."

"Saturday, at 1:00pm, Sundae's." He then adds, "Alice."

"1:00?" I whisper into the phone for I was lost in thoughts. I have dance practice! There's no way I would be allowed to go! I guess I will just have to decline, but I already accepted it earlier! Oh, what am I going to do?

"Is something wrong?" His words interrupted my thoughts.

"No, everything is alright." I lie.

I hang up the phone. Who cares how he got my number? He is cute, charming, and I need a distraction! Although, this sounds like a perfect recipe for disaster.
