"Heyyyy Mrs-" "You're late. Why?" the teachers voice boomed. "S-s-s-s-s-sorry ma'am. I was just walking a f-f-f-f-f-f-f-f-friend to class." y/n said pulling on a pout. "Yeah, that shit won't work with me. But oh well, if that's the case then I guess it's ok." She said.
"Ugh she is such a pick me" one of the other students said as you said down at the table with the boys. They were the other reason this was your favorite class. "Joshuashua, are your weally gonna wet them tweat me like that?" You said reaching over the table to grab Josh's hand. He immediately pulled it back not even looking up from his phone. "Treat you like what? Youre too old to be acting like a child anyways" he said in a agitated voice. "You're such a jokester Joshy." You said in a laugh that sounded like a pig dying. "My name's Joshua" he said coldly. "What do you mean Joshuashuhukashutamashufukashua? We've known each other since elementary school. Aren't we closer then that Joshypie?" You said reaching over the table to yet again have your hand denied.
"No. We're not"
Joshua stood up and walked to another empty table, his friends right behind him.
As his friends walked by you almost flew out of you seat because they were all 6'7 and you were just a mere 4'9. Your small frame couldn't handle the copious amounts of wind that their body's were making simply by walking.
You wallowed in sadness of your own friends leaving you. After sitting there with your head down for a little while, you felt a large hand touch your small frame. "Y-y-y-y-you came b-back for m-m-m-me" you said while lifting your head only to come face to face with... her. "Ughh what are you doing here." You said rolling your eyes hard.
Anyways, how was Mrs. Drulowski?" You asked, sitting up straight. "She was.. interesting. A troll for sure but interesting." he said taking out a fresh notebook. "ohhh she must like you. it makes sense. you're fresh meat, just her type" you said resting your head in your hand. Eli stopped, looking startled. "what do you mean 'fresh meat'?" he says turning to you. "Yknow, the new kid. She's probably happy she has another soul to crush, so watch out. She eats pretty boys like you for breakfast" y/n said looking Eli up and down. "Wait you think I'm pretty?" Eli said, a glimmer of hope in his eyes...
Y/n's cute, shy soft voice erupted in laughter. "Teeheeheehee" her mouse like squeaks sound like nails on a chalk board as everyone's attention turned to her. Once her laughter died down she realized she was once q gain the center of attention. "Sowwy teachew, I didn't realize my petite frame could make such a loud noise." Y/n said holding her head down, glancing over a Joshua every few words. His cold glares made y/n's heart flutter. Y/n's cheeks turned a deep shade of crimson as the laughter faded, replaced by an awkward silence.
"Maybe if you weren't so... cute," Jessica chimed in, her tone teasing. "You'd blend in better. But then again, who could ignore that adorable laugh right?" The class erupted in another round of giggles, and Y/n wanted nothing more than to disappear into a cloud of glitter and rainbows. She glanced at Joshua, hoping for a hint of kindness, but he just rolled his eyes, which felt like a punch to her soft, fragile, cutesy heart.
"Aww come on guys don't laugh" Joshua said with a smirk. "Is he really standing up for me? Has he finally fallen for me?" You thought.
"Y-y-y-y-y-you t-t-t-t-think I'm c-c-c-c-c-ute?" she stammered, her voice tiny. The words slipped out before she could stop them, and the room fell silent again. "Yeah, like a little... *squeaky* cookie," Joshua replied, smirking again, and the class roared with laughter. Were they laughing at her? No they couldn't be.
"Well, if I'm a squeaky cookie, then I'm going to be the best squeaky cookie there ever was!" She flung her arms out wide, nearly knocking over her pencil case in the process, which sent her glitter pens flying everywhere. "Watch out, world! Here comes Y/n, the Sparkly Squeak Master!"
The class burst into laughter once more, and for the first time that day, Y/n didn't mind being the center of attention. But even then, alarm bells rang in the back of her head. Something wasn't right.
The class continued on as usual, a couple remarks here and there. Jokes and whispers around the classroom as the teacher stood at the front explaining some slide on a PowerPoint. The class itself was such a drag but the people made it better. After the teacher finished with her dull presentation she let the kids do whatever they wanted (not that they weren't already). Y/n scooted her chair over to the teachers desk, the occasional screech the rubber made against the floor drawing eyes to her, but she continued to move unbothered closer towards the desk. She plopped down into her seat, as the teacher spun around in her chair.
Y/n pulled her pink-cased iPad out of seemingly nowhere and turned on Netflix. "What episode were we on?" She asked. "I think like 12, Andrea just got sent home right?" Ross said (that's the teacher). "Okay.." Y/n wanted to get into it like she usually would be there was just so much on her mind. She pressed play and they stayed there, at the large mahogany desk, until the bell rang.
Ohhh lunchtime.
