Chapter 3 - The Vow (Photo of Tristen Banks) -->
For the rest of the afternoon, Tristen took me to a small park away from where we live. This park was full of memories with me and my brothers. Once he parked up, I jumped out and ran to my favourite spot - the swings. Getting a good grip on the metal rope, I pushed myself back and forward enjoying the light cool breeze going through my hair.
Tristen caught up to me with a chuckle saying, "You never did let anyone of us have a ride on there."
I turned my head around and gave him a smile. "You know it."
Continuing to swing, I felt Tristen behind who started to push me lightly. Together we stayed there in our own thoughts until he stopped pushing me.
"Alright, my hands are tired from all that pushing. We should head back home." He stated flexing his fingers.
I laughed getting off and wrapped my arms around his waist. We walked back to the car slowly and to be honest it looked like we are a couple to the other people around here. But I know he is my brother so who cares what they think, because I most certainly don't.
On the other hand, my brother's use this as a need to get away from many girls who flung themselves shamelessly. I actually enjoy it because they would give me evil glares to which I smirk back at them.
On the way home, Tristen picks up a conversation. "So tell me Scarlett what happened between you and Jace? I'm so curious to what you did this time."
"This morning Jace was making my breakfast and put chilli powder in my pancakes. I almost died and put my mouth under the tap to cure the burn in my tongue but that didn't work after a couple of pints. So I looked through the snack draw and without knowing I opened his box of Malteasers. Munching away, I was unaware of Jace watching me in total shock. He said to put them down and get away but I spoke back. Then next thing you know, I tease him a little more and Noah and Chase hold Jace until I reach my room. He banged all he wanted on my door pleading for his chocolates so I ate them all."
I stopped and looked at Tristen who was laughing so hard. Tears were welling around his eyes as he blinked rapidly to clear his vision. "You ate them all?"
I grinned at him. "Yes I had to after he killed my pancakes! I had to get even but had more fun stuffing the empty box with marbles. Then I gave that to him as an apology and the rest is yet to be known."
"Oh man Scarlett, you sure know how to get revenge." Tristen said smiling so wide his teeth were all on show.
"That I do" I agreed. "But I'm worried to go home and see what he has in store." I told him nervously.
Tristen heard the uneasy tone in my voice and assured, "Don't worry about that, I'm here now so we'll see if he tries anything."
"Thanks Tris, I love you." I say truthfully.
"Love you more Scarlett." He responds.
Before we headed home, Tristen made a stop at McDonalds drive thru and bought us all dinner. With the smell of burgers and fries scenting the car, I couldn't wait to get home and eat. My stomach was rumbling so loud Tristen joked a beast would take over me.
Finally we made it home and my hands felt sweaty. Wiping them on my shorts, I helped Tristen unload the fast food. He went in first checking for any traps and once he assured it was all clear, I followed behind him. Going into the kitchen, we placed the food on the counter and Tristen called the boys down.
Rushing loud and heavy footsteps sounded the house as Jace and Chase both ran into the kitchen. As they ran together, they both got stuck in the doorway cursing one another to move. I doubled over in laughter at the sight as did Tristen. When Jace heard me, he stopped and made his way to me murderously. As a reflex, Tristen pushed me behind him protectively and took his arm out to stop Jace midway.
