8. Not So New House Guest

I was frozen in a state of total utter shock. My eyes stayed glued to his, my breath caught in my throat as my body stilled completely.

How the hell did he become Noah's friend? 

Why out of all the people in the world did he have to be here?

Why oh why?

"Woah Scarlett, don't move until I clear up all the glass on the floor." Noah commanded, collecting the broken glass from around me.

There were quick movements around as Jace and Chase got up helping Noah clear up the juice mess.

Everything was going on in a blur until Noah placed his hand on my shoulder beside me.

"Well that was unexpected." He joked chuckling lightly. "Right so this is my youngest sister Scarlett. And Scarlett this is my best friend Leo Baines." He said introducing us.

I smiled weakly whilst Leo gazed at me, nodding to Noah.

"It's great to meet you Scarlett." Leo graced, the sound of my name coming from his lips like silk.

"You too Leo." I replied quickly.

He was about to say something when Jace beat him to it thankfully.  

"Enough chit chat, lets eat I'm starving."

I smiled and moved to my seat at the dining table next to Chase. Noah sat at the head of the table with Leo and Jace on his left. Sadly I was opposite Leo which wasn't good, but I wouldn't let him get in the way of my dinner.

Throughout dinner, Noah conversed with Leo where the twins joined in as well. I was thinking non stop about how coincidental this was all.

The one guy who said I was beautiful at the beach, asking for my name and following me around. Then he came to my frickin work place! Just my luck, I had to serve him and get caught from my lame attempt of trying to hide.

I jerked my head up when Chase nudged me in the ribs.

"You zoned out there didn't you?" Noah asked, making me turn to face him.

I grimaced slightly. "Woops my bad."

"So you're the special girl in Noah's life then?" Leo began taking a sip of his drink.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked defensively.

He shrugged naturally. "Oh just how much he talks about you when he gets the chance. The guys and myself always wanted to see a photo of you, but Noah kept you hidden. He said he didn't want us to know what you look like."

I stared in shock at Leo with my mouth hanging open.

I was Noah's special girl? What the... 

I thought his special girl would be his girlfriend whenever he gets one. But me?!?

Also why didn't he let them see a photo of me? Was I that hideous he didn't want his friends to see me?

Feeling hurt by that thought I went back to eating my dinner when I didn't feel hungry anymore.

Someone cleared their throat. "Um... so anyone want seconds?" Noah asked, changing the subject.

The twins jumped for seconds happily, stuffing their stomachs to the limit.

Dinner rolled by rather awkwardly after Leo told me about Noah. I was quiet and didn't say much other than help out and head to bed.

"Scarlett, can I come in?" Noah asked behind my door.
