The powerful being known. . . as Infinite focused. Mounted laser guns pivoted in their sockets to face him. He could sense their energy building, ready to unleash a volley of death in his direction. Infinite knew he couldn't run. If he wanted to escape the room of death he was currently standing in, he was going to have t o be fast... faster than the eye could see... faster than Sonic the Hedgehog...
The laser on the wall began to glow, forming the deadly bolts of energy that would obliterate anything and everything foolish enough to be in the way...
Infinite focused... and smiled to himself...
"This is too easy!"
An unknown figure, wearing a dark cloak tapped out a code into a keypad. The bulky doors opened to the laser testing chamber, which, to the cloaked figures satisfaction, no longer had any working lasers in it. All there was left of the ninety seven weapons were smouldering holes in the wall where they had been.
Infinite stood, arms folded, in the centre of the room. Despite the obvious signs of the heavy gunfire that had taken place, infinite didn't have a single mark. The cloaked figurecouldn't be sure with that mask infinite was wearing, but it seemed to him that his newest weapon was 'smirking' at him.
"Is that really the best you've got?"
The figure smiled with satisfaction. "Well done, Infinite. It seems you are putting my creations to good use."
The Figure was of course referring to the red, angular jewel that was embedded into infinite's chest. It glowed menacingly, giving just the slightest hint of the awesome power it contained.
"Yes... with this power, I feel I can take on anyone!" Infinite said in a tone that bespoke both his pride and arrogance. "Even Sonic the Hedgehog."
The Figure looked Infinite up an down, resting a hand on his Chin...
"Hmm... So you say... but are you really any better than that Mercenary that Shadow the Hedgehog pushed aside without a second glance?"
"He was weak..." Infinite said. The single eye visible through his mask betrayed his irritation at Eggman's remark. "I am not weak. I will prove my power to you and the Dark Triad... I shall obliterate the Hedgehogs your master so despises!"
"Oh no you won't" The Figure said firmly. "If you confront Sonic now and fail to defeat him, my master's plans will be ruined! Before I send you to battle Sonic and his family, I need to be sure of your skills... Robotnik trusted you before, only for you and your pathetic squad was obliterated in the blink of an eye!"
Infinite simmered... enraged at the Figures comments... how dare he imply that he was as weak as the identity he had left behind... Hadn't the months and years of vigorous testing been enough to convince him?
"Very well..." he said, suppressing the urge to snap his masters neck... not that he was sure if the Unknown cloaked Figure even had a neck... "I shall prove my power to you and the Dark Triad, by defeating the most powerful foes I find!"
"Infinite... I don't want anyone to know about you before me and my am ready... And he's coming..... Real soon!"
"Nobody will know... at least nobody in this world or reality..." Infinite smirked once again under his mask. Using the Phantom Ruby, he began to form a swirling red vortex a meter or so in front of him. "This foe of which I refer does not reside in this dimension... Will that put your mind at rest?"
The Cloaked Figure pondered... he rubbed his chin in his hood for a while, before walking to a nearby supply dispenser. He entered a code and retrieved a small device from the the delivery tube, before walking over to Infinite.
"Very well then, Infinite," he said as he attached the small device to Infinite. "Go, fight any foe. With this device I will be able to watch the entire encounter. Make sure you put on a good show!"
Infinite stepped into the portal, looking over his shoulder at the Unknown Cloaked Figure as he did so. "You can count on it."
Infinite: [Curious] Not that I care or anything, but who it this master you keep referring to.
The Unknown Figure's heart began to beat in excitement. "Oo my boy. My Master has been called many things throughout different lifetimes."
"A Ruler." The Figure muttered.
"A Savior." The Figure said with a little base in his voice.
"A Conquerer!" He said firmly.
"A God." The cloaked figure muttered.
Infinite: [Surprised] Sounds like quite a powerful man.
"He will be more than that. Once he arrives in this dimension. In this. . . timeline."
Infinite walks through the portal and tries to find something to attract N.A.T.O.s attention on Mobius.
???: They will know. . . who is the Master - the Conqueror of time and space.
