I awoke sometime later, groggy but alive. I try to move but I'm stopped by a hard, slick surface which almost completely surrounds me. I move my uninjured leg forward a little but feel the same material all around my leg.
I try to choke out a cry for help, but it comes out a low groan. I look around for any sign of life as I continue my attempts to free myself, but the room is silent with the exception of my struggling. The material around me begins to crack as I continue to force my arms into it with all the strength that I could manage.
After a small while of freeing my right arm, I decide to rest and continue looking at my surroundings. One thing worth mentioning is that the door is wide open, and I can't hear the men who attacked me anymore. I also notice that I am glued to the wall by the black material. then I notice a faint hissing coming from just below my feet.
Looking down, I see the floor is corroded slightly due to a green liquid dripping from above me. I look up to find the source of the acidic material, and don't like what I see.
Curled all around my top half is the creature I saw just before blacking out. It appears to be sleeping, but it has no eyes, so I can't tell. I am now frantically bashing at the material on my legs in an attempt to free myself.
I fall to the ground with a loud bang after I put all my weight into pushing my torso toward the ground. My head hits the ground first, dazing me for a few seconds. I stand up quickly and bolt toward the door, not daring to look back to see if the creature is pursuing me.
Just as I get through the door, I trip on the frame, landing softly this time on something squishy and wet. I jump at the door control labeled 'EMERGENCY OVERRIDE' and turn to survey the room where I was tortured. Nothing could've prepared me for what I saw next.
Blood everywhere, the corpses of the men who attacked me mutilated and decapitated almost beyond recognition. I retched and gagged as I made my way away from the door, but nothing came out because I hadn't eaten in about a day. Things couldn't get much worse.
But then they did. The door controls sparked and sizzled. The door slowly slid open, revealing the silhouette of the alien eerily standing in the door way. I was just on the opposite side of the room, a mere 30 feet away, and couldn't see the exit anywhere. It spotted me and immediately began quickly walking toward me.
I froze in fear, finally getting a good look at it as the light from above the table swayed toward it. Rigid dome head, hands with claws on each nail, and a long, segmented tail that had a blade on the end. It was obvious that this creature was meant to kill anything to touched. As I studied it, I saw the wound on its shoulder. It looked similar to the gashes on my thigh and arm.
It reached me in seconds, moving gracefully over the corpses of my captors and the chair I was restrained in. It's face lowered to mine and bared its metallic teeth. The creature picked me up with ease, carrying me back to the cell. Just before it got to the door, it dropped me and shrieked, turning its head to the right.
A boy about my age stood there, stun rifle in hand, firing round after round into it. He grabbed my hand and pulled me off the ground with about the same force as the alien, which had retreated into its cell with a hiss. He pointed to an elevator just behind him and yelled "GO!".
I hauled ass without looking back, reaching the elevator in seconds. As I turned back to him, he slammed into me, knocking me to the floor while he scrambled to hit a button on the panel.
The doors closed painfully slow. The creature was actually walking toward us now, ignoring the stun rounds. I got off the floor and began to hit the 'door close' button repeatedly for a solid three seconds before they finally shut. We were safe.
