It only took us a minute or two to reach the vehicle bay, but the elevator ride felt like hours for me. Every creak and groan the elevator made was a potential threat. The image of the creature was still fresh in my head. 9ft tall, sharp claws on its hands and feet, dome head, and sharp tail to slice through a man in seconds.

When the door of the elevator opened we we're met with several guards in basic military gear, their weapons aimed straight at us. For a moment I actually thought they we're going to kill me, but we weren't their target.

"Get over here, now!" Lewis whispered.

The boy and I ran over to Lewis reluctantly, still unsure of who to trust. A nearby guard took the kids gun from him (with great effort) and placed it on a nearby table. We all seemed to be waiting for the creature to come up after us, to come barreling towards us from the elevator shaft at any time.

But it didn't...

"Patrick!" It was Phillip, jogging toward us. He had changed into a plain white lab coat and some khakis. Maybe he had a job here too? "Thank god you're alright! What's the matter with you? You could've gotten yourself killed, son!"

That explained a lot. I saw very little resemblance between the two, but apparently this was Lawson's son. He looked almost nothing like him. There was something strange about him, his strength. When he pulled me off the ground, he didn't even flinch trying to pick me up. The only answer I could come up with is that he's a synthetic, but he acts like he has human emotions.

"Sorry dad, but he was in that thing's cell!"  Phillip looked shocked, scared, and angry all at once. I wasn't sure who he was angry with but it didn't appear to be me.  He turned to the guards, a look of pure hate in his eyes.

"Get Devin from his room and bring him to me, NOW! This boy is a GUEST! Not food for that THING!
