"Wait!" You said suddenly. The blade against your face leaving a stinging feeling as it cut against your skin.
"Terrible last word, but it'll do I guess," Sylvie laughed cruelly.
"I can get us out of here," you said breathlessly. You ignored the smile she had plastered on her face as she continued to drag the blade over your face slowly.
"Oh yeah? Why don't you explain while I sharpen my weapon," she said not looking you in the eye, but rather focusing on what she was doing.
"This room supplies power to the TVA. If we break enough stuff, it'll shut down the power and someone will come to fix it," you said squirming away from her blade a bit.
"So you're saying all we have to do is break all of this?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying"
"Easy enough. You plan on doing this naked or are you planning on getting dressed?" She said eyeing you up and down again. You once again felt exposed and quickly put your clothes back on while Sylvie started swinging at everything in her path. You watched as she easily broke apart the machinery. It was as if she was cutting through butter. You couldn't help but admire her strength.
As she cut through everything you could hear alarms sounding in the distance. The plan was working. You were praying they sent more than one person to give you a chance to escape while Sylvie was distracted. A fight is exactly what you needed to slip away. Sylvie had finished smashing and cutting her way through everything after a few minutes. You looked at all the destruction she had left in her wake, surprised at just how much damage one person could do.
You waited with bated breath. Sylvie had taken a position next to the door, waiting to ambush whoever was going to come through it. She had put her amor back on and was ready to pounce like a cat. You stayed where you were by the wall and hoped that whoever came through saw you first and that it gave them enough time to understand that they were in danger. Unfortunately, Your hopes came crashing down 5 minutes later.
Only one person walked through the door and it wasn't a minuteman. Casey, the regular tech and records assistant came walking through the door unaware of any danger. He happened to walk right past Sylvie and didn't stand a chance against her. Before he even knew what happened to him, he was on his knees with a knife to his throat. "Don't make any noise or movement and we won't have a problem" Sylvie said without much emotion.
"Okay," Casey said in a confused tone as he looked around. He noticed you and you both locked eyes with each other.
"He's not a threat. We can just go." You said trying to avoid leaving a dead body in your path.
"Let's go," Sylvie replied shoving Casey to the floor. "We've got Time Keepers to kill," she said waiting for you to leave the room first.
"Sorry Casey. Thanks for letting us out." You said giving him a shrug and pained smile. You were once again stuck on the path leading to the Time Keepers. You had no idea how to get out of it this time now that Sylvie knew that you were stalling. Knowing full well that the elevator to the Time Keepers was heavily guarded in and out, you decided your best bet was to lead her there and hope they could finish her off and set you free.
Taking the normal way straight to the Time Keepers, you didn't delay. In a short 5 minute walk, after keeping a quick pace, the golden elevator doors were before the both of you. As you figured, two minutemen were stationed on guard in front of them. Sylvie didn't hesitate, she went straight into fight mode and both minutemen noticed her coming towards them in full battle mode. It wasn't much of a fight unfortunately. You had hoped they would end this for you and save the day but Sylvie made quick work of them, pruning both with their own prune sticks.
"Hey!"
You both turned your heads to the sudden sound. Finally, you drew a quick breathe of relief. There stood your mother. The person you knew was going to save the day and end this nightmare. She had a prune stick ready to defend the TVA at all costs. Four minutemen stood behind her ready to fight. The relief was short lived, in an instant you were pulled against Sylvie with a blade at your throat. She held you tight around the waist so you couldn't pull away from her.
"Come any closer and I'll kill her," Sylvie said dangerously.
"You don't want to do that. Either way this doesn't end well for you," your mother replied calmly.
"If you want your daughter alive you'll do exactly what I say," Sylvie replied pushing her blade even harder against your neck. You let out the tiniest squeal at the sudden jolt of pain.
"I can't let you get to the Time Keepers. We all know what we have to sacrifice. The timeline is important above everything else," Ravonna replied, not taking her eyes off of Sylvie. That response hit deep. You knew she meant what she said and that she took her role in the TVA very seriously. Still, your heart sunk. You suddenly didn't know if you were actually going to get out of this alive.
You didn't have enough time to find out. The moment Ravonna ended her sentence she lunged. You saw her prune stick move as if in slow motion. It came towards the both of you. Ravonna didn't care who she hit as the bright, glowing end came straight towards you. It hit you first, right on the shoulder, then swept past you and hit Sylvie on the arm threatening to cut your head off.
You and Sylvie were both surprised you think, though, you didn't have much time to tell. You looked at your hands as they fizzled away, you didn't have time to scream or cry. You couldn't feel anything, and a few moments later, there was only darkness.
