Procrastination, an enemy to everyone in one way, shape, or form. Today however, it seemed to loom over you dangerously as you lay in bed. The soft fluffy white comforter surrounding you like an ocean. You stare up at the white ceiling above you and wonder if anyone would notice if you didn't show up for work today. This was a morning battle that you faced everyday, the boring work of a TVA agent made your bed feel even more comfortable. You stretched your arms and legs out as you prepared to finally make your way out of bed. The responsibilities you held seem to have won your battle this morning. You got up, gave your bed a goodbye pat, and prepared for the day.

Being a TVA agent was a very serious responsibility. One that you only acquired because your mother, Ravonna Renslayer, expected the highest of achievements from you. She expected you to set an example to everyone, and lead the TVA into the "future". After all, she did expect you to take her position one day in the court's high chair. Something you secretly dreaded because it would make getting out of bed even harder than it already was, and the struggle was real in the morning. The best part of your day was getting to take cases with Mobius. The two of you have explored worlds to a degree together while piecing the timeline back together again. Resetting a timeline and bringing in a variant gave you two a small amount of pleasure living in the moment. Just Mobius, you, and an unknown world to look at. You both longed for something more though, you could tell by the look in his eyes, he wanted the same thing as you. Exploration.

You brushed your teeth and put on your "serious suit" as you called it. Which consisted of (Your outfit of choice). Ravonna wanted you dressed serious and professional at all times. You hated it, you preferred your casual, and much more comfortable clothes. You put your hair up out of your face, and took one last look in the mirror before heading off.

"Hey! Mobius!" You said as you made your way down the hall from your room. Mobius, Ravonna, and you all slept in the same section of the TVA. It was a pretty nice setup and had a beautiful view of the TVA. You could see all the TVA agents making their way to work this morning.
"What's up kiddo, you ready to head out today?" Mobius replied as he waited for you to catch up to him.
"As ready as I'll ever be" I replied back. "What are we working on today?" I asked quizzically as I looked at the folder in his hands.
"The variant that keeps killing all of our people has struck again unfortunately, we need to go take a look. Your mother says goodmorning by the way, she had to fly quick this morning." He says taking quick strides.
"I figured as much. About mom I mean, the variant thing caught me off guard a bit. I thought mom said I wasn't allowed to help out with this case?" I asked. Ravonna has never let me on a case that involved this variant. She says, "it's too dangerous" to put it simply. I've always been fascinated with it though, a variant that could avoid the TVA for this long was a big deal in the TVA. Talk about it has been going on for months ever since the killings started. Mobius says its a Loki variant, of whom you've never heard of or seen. Mobius once let you watch clips of a particular Loki variant's life, it seemed interesting, to say the least. Mobius on the other hand was fully invested into this case. He obsessed over it, and ever since the killings started its escalated.
"Your mother agreed this time. We're running low on abled bodies at this point. This variant is insatiable and has killed another six minutemen." Mobius said in a grave tone. You knew he didn't like the killing. The TVA was his home and his heart was so big you didn't know how he fit it all in his chest. He loves and protects all TVA agents and is like a fatherly figure to a lot of young agents out there, including myself.
"Sorry to hear it, I'm glad to be on the case. Thank you for putting in a word for me" you said giving him a warm smile. In truth, you were absolutely thrilled to be going along with Mobius. You felt a twinge of guilt over the fact that you were excited to investigate the deaths of your fellow colleagues, but it didn't stifle your overjoyed feelings.
"Don't let your mother know I'm a bad influence on you" he said with a smile and a wink.
"I would never, it'll be our little secret" you grinned back, giving him a wink of your own. "So where exactly are we headed?" You asked as you both made your way to your lockers.
"Earth, 1872 in Denmark. The minutemen were investigating a nexus event that happened in a small town by the sea" He said opening the folder to confirm what he was saying.
"What would the variant be doing there? Was there a big event there?" You asked giving him a questioning look.
"I honestly don't know,  my best guess is the variant is purposefully creating nexus events to kill the minutemen. Their reset charge and tempads were also stolen" He said still looking over the paperwork.
"just like all the others huh?" You said more to yourself than anything. You both arrived to your lockers.  You took out a less professional and more practical jacket to hold your tempad in, and in case you had to fight. Your weapons of choice were two daggers gifted to you by your mother. You cherished these daggers and you concealed them in two hidden sleeves on each leg. The pants you wore were conveniently stretchy and hid them well.
"You ready kiddo?" Mobius asked holding his tempad in his hand.
"Ready whenever you are" you replied back. Mobius opened up the portal behind you and you both walked through.
