Y/N
Spencer is going to be okay. Spencer is going to be okay. Spencer is going to be okay. You paced around, feeling your heart race. You hadn't moved since Spencer was put into the back of the ambulance.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Penelope asked as she held you in her arms.
"Spencer is going to be okay, right? They're going to save him. He's going to recover." You exhaled, seeing his blood on your hands and shirt. You had tried to keep him alive for so long that his blood had seeped onto your hands and clothes.
"Yeah, he's going to be just fine." Penelope hugged you.
"C- Carter...I need to g- get him." You could feel your hands starting to shake.
"Go home, Y/N. Shower, get changed. Take a moment to relax. Agent Jareau and I will go and make sure Carter is okay." Penelope hugged you again.
You nodded, walking hastily up to the BAU bullpen. You grabbed your car keys and quickly headed to the elevator, trying to calm down. The moment you got into your car, you drove. You didn't think. You simply drove - following the directions you knew would lead you home. You barely parked your car before racing inside the apartment complex.
You walked toward your apartment, stopping when you were halfway between yours and Spencer's apartments. You looked at your apartment door, before you turned to look at Spencer's apartment door. Without hesitation, you walked to Spencer's apartment, finding his spare key underneath the doormat.
You unlocked the door and slowly walked into Spencer's apartment. Everything was so familiar. The furniture, the books, the disarray of his desk. You made it to Spencer's bedroom, tears now steaming down your face. You laid on his bed, trying to get as much of its warmth as possible. To you, his bed was just as comforting and warming as a hug from him. His pillows represented his chest as you laid your head on it. His blankets represented his arms, wrapping around you with love, care and warmth, ready for you to rest.
You didn't care that you were covered in blood and tears. All you cared about was hoping that Spencer would be okay. You eventually fell asleep to the warmth of Spencer's bed.
PENELOPE
I watched as Y/N's car drove off. 30 minutes later, JJ and I arrived at Carter's school, having found out that I was put on the list of people who were allowed to pick Carter up. Providing my badge, Carter was in my car, being entertained by JJ within 10 minutes.Driving to the apartment complex, we walked up to the floor containing Spencer and Y/N's apartments.
"Carter, let's go home, shall we?" JJ asked, watching as he ran over to his front door, using a key that was kept in his backpack to open the door.
"Garcia?" JJ raised her eyebrow.
"I'll meet you guys in there." I nodded, watching as JJ entered Y/N's apartment.
I noticed that Spencer's apartment door was open. Walking inside, I inspected the apartment, hoping that no one had taken the key to get inside. I exhaled when I saw Spencer's bedroom door open. Inching closer, my eyes widened to see Y/N laying in Spencer's bed, clearly sound asleep. She was covered in dry blood, and it was clear that she had been crying for a while.
Me: JJ, let Carter deal with his homework. Get to Reid's apartment, ASAP.
I put my phone away and waited for JJ. Hearing a door close, I turned and watched as JJ entered Spencer's apartment.
"What's going on? Y/N isn't home." JJ exhaled.
"That's because she's right here." I stepped aside and gestured to Spencer's bed.
"W- What is she doing here?" JJ questioned.
"Sleeping, obviously. As to why...my only guess is that she's worried about him, hoping that he'll be okay." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Yeah, but any friend would clean herself up and get changed. She's covered in dry blood and tears. She clearly came here, instead of her own apartment." JJ looked at me.
"Are you suggesting that Dr. Reid has a girlfriend, and her name is Y/N?" I asked, curious.
"Well, it's a very possible theory." JJ nodded.
