chapter 4

(Kanen POV)

I didn't know what else to do. I just had to get out of there. What was i thinking?! Come on! I marked her! No. That's a lie. HE marked her, I had no say in the matter. My stupid wolf has a mind of his own, and never thinks about the consequences of his actions! He just goes off impulse.

I don't even know the girl... I know she's my mate. There is no other way to explain the feeling she gave me. Just that one touch turned my world upside down. My body reacted faster than my brain did. I swear I didn't mean to kiss her. I just did it. I looked into her eyes and the next thing I know I'm pulling her to me like my body physically needed her. I couldn't resist her, and my wolf obviously didn't care what ether of us thought about the situation. I was talking to her and then wha'da ya know? He takes a bite right outta her. If it wasn't for the way she gasped and let out a small shout... I probably wouldn't have stopped. It felt so good.. so right and I wanted so much more, but did she?

She probably hates me now. I just marked her and claimed her as my own. Warning other wolves off of her... what if she has a boyfriend? That thought outraged me! My inner wolf growled, and I sighed in frustration.

I'm nearly home now,and don't really feel like continuing the fight that was going on in my head. I am going to take a shower and go to bed. I ran nearly all the way here and i'm tired.

I walk through the front door and head for my room, but don't get even a foot in the door before Niko starts pelting me with questions.

"Where the hell have you been?! And why did you block me out of your head? I was worried to death something had happened to you! I am your Alpha and you didn't think to inform me that you were staying out that late? I knew you were going for a walk but its almost 4 in the morning!" He shouted storming towards me.

"Sorry 'father' I didn't think I had to tell you every little thing I was doing." I am really not in the mood for his bitching. I just wanna take a shower to clear my head and go to bed.

"Don't you talk to m-." His eyes got real big and his jaw hit the floor with a loud thunk. Ok so not really, but you get the picture.

"What?"

"Kanen... you wanna tell me something?" His eyes narrowed, and his lip was in a tight line but looked like he was trying to hold back a smile. Shit, he knows.

"No." I turned and headed for the bathroom. He of course ran after me, wanting to know more.

"Then why do you smell different? Huh? Did you meet a special someone?!" He was like a little girl at this point, bouncing with excitement.

"Just leave me alone Niko."

"Oh come on! Whats her name? Whats she look like? Do I know her?!" He was walking right behind me.

"Niko. Please just let it drop. I dont want to talk about it." He stopped walking and talking all together. I turned to look at him.

"What did you do?" He asked accusingly, eyes narrowing.

"Nothing. Just let it go." He shook his head slowly.

"No. Not till you tell me what you did."

"Why wont you just let this drop?!"

"Kanen... I dont want to do this but if you make me I will. Your my bestfriend but I am still your Alpha." I already knew what he was going to do.

"Fine. I marked the bartender." He looked at me in shock.

"The cute one at the party last night?" A growl escaped my chest. He gave me a cheeky grin. "So it was her!"

I turned and walked into the bathroom slamming the door in his face. He started pounding on the door shouting at me to open up. I ignored him and stripped off my clothes,getting in the shower. I took a deep breath and just let the water wash the tension out of me.

(Jamie's POV)

I don't want to go home. I know what is coming. I know he marked me im not stupid, and my brothers are going to kill me. I have found my mate... they told me to stay away from boys. Im 22 but still listening to my brothers... pathetic right? But if I don't listen... they will 'teach me a lesson" as they put it.

Im almost there now, and I have knots in my stomach. What are they going to think? I know I smell of him, I have his scent to keep others away. And that's what im afraid of. They will smell his scent the moment I walk in the door, then all hell will break loose.

Im not ready for this. I don't want to even touch the door, but I know I have to or they will come looking for me. I open the door and see kyle sitting on the couch watching tv. He doesn't look over as he talks.

"Where have you been? And why haven't you called to check in?" He had no facial expression what so ever.

"I was jumped on my way home and a guy saved me." I didn't look up as I was saying this.

"Oh. Ok, call a cab next time." He said still watching his movie. Is that it? Is he not even worried about me?! Of course not. That's right my brothers couldn't give a rats ass about me.

"Where the hell have you been?!" Came Justin's angry voice from the kitchen door way. No. I hate it when he is mad! He is the worst out off all of them!

"She was jumped in an ally or something. Then some guy helped her out." Said Kyle still not fully paying attention, and watching his movie.

"What did you do this time? Piss some guy off?" He stepped closer to me. Closer than I was comfortable with.

"N-no. I-i was walking and he just s-stepped out of the ally and attacked me." I stumbled on my words a little, and was to afraid to look him in the eye. He narrowed his.

"You smell different. Why?" He came closer. I was backed against the door. He grabbed me by my shirt and ripped it down the shoulder. "Is that a bite mark?!" He screamed. This got Kyle's attention.

Kyle came storming over to me and grabbed me by my throat and slammed me hard against the door.

"Who did it?! Tell me now Jamie!" He didn't even wait for me to answer. He clenched his fist, reared back and punched me in the face. That's gonna leave a bruise, even with my fast healing and there aint no way I can cover this one up. I heard faint yelling in the background, but my head was pounding so hard I couldn't make out what they were saying. I felt more sharp pains in my ribs and knew they were beating me. So I just let my mind slip into the darkness, and prayed it would all be over soon.
