Chapter 7

Hey guys, its been forever! Sorry about that :/ I'v been a bit under the weather.. Any way, I wanted to get at least SOMETHING to you guys, so don't hate lol I know this wont be the best chapter I'v done..

(Niko's POV)

Kanen scares me... The look in his eyes when I went to give him the medicen.. It was of true hatred. I know it wasn't aimed at me, but... My wolf wanted to give in to him. It has never wanted to do that to anyone before, not even my dad. I am an Alpha for Pete's sake. Even when I was a child, I could always get what I wanted, all I had to do was tell them and they couldn't help but do it. Although, my mother taught me differently, and to respect my elders, so I never actually did that.

This is so new to me... Why am I afraid of him? He is my best friend, and my brother.

I'm sure it's just the fact that he has found his mate, and is on high alert. And not just his mate, but his soul mate. I read that once you found your soul mate, you become one person. Just like what happened earlier... She was hurt, and so was he. But according to the book he should have broken ribs to. I don't understand why he doesn't. Well I'm about to find out.

I walk over to the shelf and grab the book I was showing Kanen. There has to be more on it than that. Flipping through the book, it talks a lot about soul mates, but not what I need to know. This stupid book never tells me what I need to know. Its nothing but random facts, but it doesn't matter, I know just who to talk to.

I grab my jacket, and my car keys and head for the door. Maybe I should tell Kanen where I'm going...

Hey, I'm going to talk to the old timer.

Why? He's a creep.

I need to ask him something, I'll be back in a little while.

Kanen continued to ask me what I needed to talk to him about, but I ignored him. What he don't know wont hurt him... At least I don't think it will. He is taking Jamie home anyway. I just need to ask him one simple question, and I didn't need Kanen riding my ass all the time.

I get into my car and put my seatbelt on. It's about a 10 minute drive out side of town. Kanen finally stopped trying to get information out of me. I could have just blocked him, but I hate doing that... What if he needed me, and couldn't get a hold of me? That's the bad part about these things, you can block someone no problem, but then you chance them actually needing to get a hold of you. So I just wait them out, they shut up sooner or later.

I finally come to the last turn before the hidden drive. No one but a selected few know of where the old timer lives, and he prefers to keep it that way.

I see the drive, and turn into it, keeping an eye out for anyone behind me. No one needs to know about this place, so I don't need any wandering eyes seeing me turning. I make my way down the twisted path. I don't think you could really call it a road anymore, because you couldn't tell it was there unless you know what to look for.

Parking the car, I get out and walk up to the porch.

"Niko, what a pleasent suprise. I haven't seen you in a long while." He was right. I try to keep my distance, Kanen wasn't lying when he said he is kinda creepy, but he is a good man, just a little rough around the edges.

He was small, and a bit hunched over. He had white hair, and a white beard. He even had a little bit of hair comming out of his ears. The thing that struck me odd about him was the fact that he was blind, but always knew who was here.

"Hello Thomas, I'm afraid I need your help."

"Indeed you do. Would this help have anything to do with Kanen by any chance?" Once again, always with the knowing of the unknown...
