Tae laid Jungkook on the bed when Jimin barged inside the room while saying with panick voice, "Tae! Do you think it could be them?" Jimin shook his head and muttered to himself, "No, it can't be!"
Tae's anxiety spiked at Jimin's words. "Who? Jimin hyung? Who could do this to him?"
"I'm not sure... But... it could be someone from his foster family," Jimin said, his face etched with concern.
"Foster family!? But he never told me anything about that..." Tae's confusion and worry were evident.
"Yeah, he doesn't like to talk about them. Living with them is his most traumatic memory," Jimin explained, his tone heavy with sympathy.
Tae clenched his jaw, holding Jungkook close to his chest as if trying to shield him from the world.
"But... Tae, I'm not sure, since his foster family moved away when the orphanage owner threatened to report them to the police," Jimin added, his voice tinged with frustration.
"Jimin-sii! Do you know what emergency he had to attend to this afternoon?" Tae asked, his concern growing.
"No! He didn't say anything to me," Jimin replied, shaking his head.
Tae sighed deeply, looking down at Jungkook, who was snoring cutely with his head resting on Tae's lap now as he didn't wanted to leave his warmth. His heart ached at the sight of his hyung so vulnerable.
"I'm sorry, Tae, but I only have one extra room here. Could you please share it with Jungkook? I think he'll need someone tonight," Jimin offered, his voice filled with regret.
Tae nodded, lifting Jungkook up in a bridal carry. Jimin showed him the way to the guest room. Tae carefully placed Jungkook on the bed and turned to Jimin, who was still looking worried.
"Don't worry, Jimin-sii, I'll take care of him. You can go and get some rest. If you have any oversized clothes, could you please get them? These clothes might be uncomfortable for him," Tae reassured him, trying to sound calm.
Jimin nodded and went to find some clothes for Jungkook. He returned with an oversized shirt and placed it on the bed. When Tae came out of the bathroom, Jimin looked at him helplessly and said, "I'm sorry, but I can't change his clothes without his permission. Just wake him up and have him change."
Tae nodded and approached Jungkook, determined to make him comfortable.
"Hyung! Kookie! Wake up!!" Tae called softly.
Kookie blinked his eyes open, rubbing them sleepily to clear his vision.
"Why... Why wake up, Kookie?" Jungkook mumbled in a drunk voice, his half-open eyes and cute pout making Tae's heart melt.
Tae couldn't help but coo at the adorable sight. He gently squished Jungkook's cheeks, holding them in his palms.
"Why so cute, Kookie?" Tae said, his voice full of affection.
Kookie yanked Tae's hands away and flipped his imaginary hair, saying with a playful tone, "Kookie is not cute; he is hot."
"Okay, okay! Kookie is hot, but he's also cute. Now this hot and cute Kookie will change his clothes. Okay!?" Tae said, holding up the shirt.
Kookie looked at Tae with dazed, drunk eyes and began unbuttoning his tight white shirt in front of Tae, who widened his eyes and quickly turned around, his face turning red.
"Kookie, go change your clothes inside the bathroom," Tae said, trying to sound firm.
Kookie shook his head and said, "No! Kookie doesn't want to change in the bathroom. I'll change here. And why are you turned around? We're both boys, so it's okay to see. 🙈"
