"Baby! Please stop crying! He's gonna be alright. Relax!"
Jin's voice was gentle but firm, trying to soothe Jungkook's anguish. He reached out to hold Jungkook's trembling shoulders, offering a semblance of comfort. But Jungkook's distress only deepened.
"Hyung... Please tell him to wake up! I—I need him, hyung. I won't be able to live without him. (sobs) Hyung! He's not talking to me. I haven't even hugged him. (sniffles) He didn't tell me, hyung... Was I not good enough to share his sadness or bad things with him!? Tell that idiot to wake up and talk to me."
Jungkook's pleas were heart-wrenching, his voice cracking under the weight of his despair. Jin's heart ached as he tried to offer reassurance, his own eyes brimming with unshed tears.
"Kook! He will wake up, baby! Stop crying! Come on! Get up! Remember the doctor said not to cry in front of him. You have to make him happy, baby! He was in depression, Kook. You need to be strong for him."
Namjoon's voice was steady, though his eyes betrayed his own sadness. He sat beside Jungkook, his hand gently caressing Jungkook's shoulder, trying to provide some semblance of strength in the midst of this emotional storm.
Jungkook's composure, which had faltered so many times before, finally broke.
Jungkook bawled loudly, clutching Jin tightly, his tears soaking Jin's shirt.
"Hyung! I—I ca..n't me..et hi..m. I ca..n't!"
Jin, seeing the depth of Jungkook's pain, felt his own heart shatter. His voice was firm but carried a deep sense of desperation.
"Shut up! Kook, just shut up! You have to get up and meet him, or else... or else I'm going to hit you with my pink slippers."
Jin's attempt at humor was tinged with anguish, trying to inject a bit of lightness into the grim situation. But Jungkook's agony was palpable.
"Hit me, hyung! Just beat me! So that I wake up from this worst dream. This is hurting, hyung! Really hurting like hell! I failed him, hyung! I said I would be there with him every step of his life, but I left him. He hates me now, right? That's why he's not talking to me. Tell him I won't leave him, hyung, not even for a second now. Just tell him once to wake up and talk to me."
Jin's face was streaked with tears as he watched Jungkook's suffering. Namjoon fought to keep his emotions in check, knowing someone had to be strong in this moment of crisis.
Jin pulled Jungkook back into his embrace, his own tears falling silently as he tried to calm him. He gently ran his fingers through Jungkook's hair, whispering soothing words to ease his distress.
"Kook, calm down. You need to rest. We'll get through this. Just hold on a little longer, okay? We're all here for you."
Jungkook's cries gradually softened as Jin's soothing touch began to work. His strength was waning, but Jin's comforting presence provided a small respite from the overwhelming pain.
"Sleep! Baby, go to sleep. I'm here for you!"
Jin's voice was gentle and reassuring, but his own eyes were filled with sorrow. As he spoke, a nurse entered and administered a sedative to Jungkook, following Namjoon's instructions. Jin leaned in close, his voice barely a whisper.
