Rory: How was the interrogation??
Ajax: It didn't really go anywhere. She kept questioning my relationship with Connor.
Autumn: Oh yeah, weren't you guys close in junior high?
Ajax: She didn't need to know that. Just another reason to suspect me.
Autumn: I mean...
Ajax: What? Do you think I did something? Me and Connor just drifted, we had different values and we both accepted that.
Autumn: Idk. something about you just doesn't add up.
Noel: What did you tell Alice about where you were?
Ajax: I choked. I said I was studying at the library. Noel, did she ask you about that??
Noel: They did. But I never mentioned you. She tried to get me to explain the "atmosphere" and if anything seemed off at the library.
Ajax: Shit. She was probably trying to get you to mention me. She knows something wrong.
Noel: I mean technically the library has 2 levels. You could've been upstairs for all she knows.
Rory: It's okay, at least they never asked the three of your guys' connection
Autumn: Your right. They didn't surprisingly. But I think the Interrogator believes we all have a hatred/soft spot for Connor. She was targeting very specific questions
...
Noel: Well, he bullied me all through freshman year. But who would believe that's enough to kill? It is not like we had beef recently.
Autumn: Pent-up anger?
Noel: It is not that deep.
Ajax: But deep enough to have a motive?
Noel: You guys have nothing on me either way. I had liked to destroy him, not murder though.
...
Rory: Since me and Ajax got nothing out of the librarian. Autumn and Noel, can you guys look into the bento guy?
Noel: Sure.
Ajax: Yeah, we shouldn't be seen altogether. Me and Rory will cover for you guys just in case.
"Rory!" Ajax said while waving his papers in the air. It was morning period, the block orders had changed, and they were headed to Philosophy class.
"Ajax. Why are you waving at me like a maniac? People are gonna get suspicious." Rory whispered the last word like venom.
"You want me to change my whole personality now? Become emo like you? He teased, his hair shagged over his forehead.
Rory didn't seem pleased. "I'm not emo."
He studied her. "Hey, I didn't mean to insult you."
"It's fine." Rory looked at her shoes while walking. "You finish the prep?"
"Yeah, I have so much to say. Ethics is my specialty." They both decided to sit together for their group seminars.
"I can tell. You have a strong sense of justice."
