Chapter 2

Kayden's pov

"What the hell Lexie? You want to kill me first thing in the morning!? I think I broke something." I scolded my best friend who just kissed my cheek and got off me.

"You'll be fine big baby. Besides, I missed you." She pursed her lips and tried to look sad.

"You saw me two days ago." I rolled my eyes.

Lexie is one of my best friends and also a werewolf, her dad is human so they live a little further from the packhouse with permission from alpha, so we didn't see each other over the weekend.

Lexie has black/purple hair and cut into a pixie style, dark brown eyes, a lip piercing and she almost always wears black. Despite her style, she has a big heart and cheerful character.

"And that's too long! Come on, let's find Dylan!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me down the school corridors. Soon we found Dylan flirting with a girl.

"Dylan! You're not cheating on me are you!?" Lexie exclaimed dramatically.

The poor girl who was talking to Dylan quickly ran away. Hmm, Dylan will murder Lexie.

"What the hell Lexie!? You just ruined my chances with her, soon all the girls will think I'm with you!" He shouted.

Lexie burst out laughing, which attracted a lot of attention in our direction, including a couple of angry glares. Awesome, I got their attention right from the morning.

"Pff.. I'm sorry Dyl, I like to joke at your expense." Lexie smiled innocently at him and Dylan calmed down.

"You're an idiot. You are going to fix it." He said and we continued talking until it was time to go to our respective classes.

I looked around and sighed in relief. No bullies. It's when I'm not in the same class with my friends that I'm exposed to bullying. I started to walk towards my class when suddenly I was pulled into an empty hallway.

My back slammed into the lockers and my eyes met Brian's dull gray eyes. He held onto my collar and leaned closer to my face. Gross.

"Did you think we wouldn't be wishing good morning to you nerd?" He asked and the others laughed behind him. Keith and Ryder were with him.

"Good morning Brian. How are you? Look, if you want to kiss me, just do it, I have to go to my class. I don't think I'll enjoy it though, considering your morning breath." I smiled at him and waited for the punch.

And it came. He hit me hard in the stomach and the air was knocked out of my lungs. I coughed but refused to fall to the ground.

"You really should learn not to talk back faggot!" He raged. It's a funny sight when his face is completely red.

"Well, for that to happen, you'd have to stop talking to me first." I replied with a grin.

I was worried for a moment that Brian was going to burst a blood vessel in his forehead because he was so angry. He tackled me to the floor and kicked me in the stomach, Keith joined in and kicked me in the back.

"Okay, that's enough! We're going to be late for practice and I don't want to listen to the coach's screaming at us." Ryder, idiot number 3 said and the minions stopped.

Not giving them the satisfaction of seeing me lying wounded on the ground, I began to get up. Ryder pushed me back down on the floor.

"Stay down, omega." He whispered the word omega so the baboons wouldn't hear.

A typical big-headed future Alpha male, thinks he can command others. Fuck him! I tried to get up again and he pushed me back down.

"You obey your Alpha." He growled quietly in my face and I had to use all my will power not to spit in his face.

"Your father is my Alpha." I growled back. Ryder's eyes widened, he must not be used to someone opposing him. Especially omega.

"And I hope you'll never be my Alpha. I hope my mate is in a different pack so I can get out of here with him, far away from you!" I told him furiously.

Ryder's face got an expression that I didn't really understand. Confusion and anger? No matter, this was enough for me. I used all my rage and pushed him away from me. He staggered backwards and I quickly got up and left the place.

"Awesome Kayden, you showed him! You're stronger than me.. His Alpha aura makes me weak. Sorry." Kai said and I wanted to comfort him.

"You don't have to be sorry Kai. You're a wolf, it's your nature to submit to a stronger one even if you don't necessarily want to. I love you Kai and I would never trade you for another."

"Aaww you softy! I love you too, but enough for that and let's try to survive for another week. Then hopefully we'll find our mate." Kai said dreamily.

My mate, I can't wait. I want to experience everything I've heard. Sparks, a constant desire to be close to another. It's like love at first sight.

I just went to class at the same time as the teacher and went to my seat. I didn't listen to anything the teacher said, I was completely lost in my own thoughts. Not that I have anything to lose, I already know these things.

I meant what I said to Ryder. I hope my mate is from a different pack, I don't want to live under a bully Alpha who doesn't respect his own pack members.

Of course, I would miss my friends, Caleb and Elise, but moving in with a mate is part of the way werewolves do. So to speak, the weaker one usually moves into the other's pack.

Anyway, I hope the week goes by as quickly as possible.
