Kayden's pov

"I know you're excited, but you have to wait in the car until I give the go-ahead, okay?" I asked the twins as I drove the car into the yard of a familiar house. They both nodded.

All the memories invaded my mind and it was hard to keep my emotions under control. My childhood home. Exactly as I remembered, except for the toys that were in the yard. Caleb has three kids under the age of 8 and they keep him busy. I can't wait to meet them.

I gathered my courage and got out of the car. I shuffled my feet towards the house and when I got there I knocked on the door. Why am I so nervous? It seemed like forever before the door opened and my brother was standing in front of me.

He still looks the same as before just more tired.

"Kayden?" Caleb asked surprised, frozen in place.

"Hi Caleb." I answered shyly, I don't know how he will react to seeing me.

"Kayden.." Caleb recovered from his shock and pulled me into his arms. I buried my head in his neck and held on tight.

When we finally let go of each other, we looked at each other through tears. My bottom lip quivered and I tried my best to hold back the crying.

"Oh my Goddess Kayden, what are you doing here? Not that I'm not happy but what about Ryder!?" Caleb asked.

"Yeah, he found me." I frowned "so there was no reason for me to stay hidden anymore. I wanted to see you and my friends so much that I agreed to come back, at least for now." I answered and looked at my brother.

He watched me for a long time but finally a big smile appeared on his face and he caught me in his arms again.

"I'm so glad you're here! I hope Ryder didn't hurt you? Alpha or not, I'll wring his neck if he hurt you." He said seriously.

"Nothing I couldn't handle. We talked and he knows well that I'm not here for him. I can't just forget everything that's happened, but we can try to see if we can live together."

Caleb looked at me suspiciously for a moment before saying

"I guess that's a good thing. I still can't believe you're really here, I've missed you. Let's go inside and talk more, Elise is with the kids at her friend's house but they'll be back before evening. And your old room is still yours, we haven't touched it ." Caleb said and started to lead me inside but I stopped him. Goddess I'm nervous.

"Hey, what now? Why are you suddenly so nervous?" Caleb asked worriedly. I peeked at him from under my eyelashes and answered cautiously

"I still have something to tell you.. That room isn't big enough for us."

"Us?" He asked.

"Yeah.." I turned to look at the car with a nod.

The car doors flew open and two eager kids ran towards us. It touched me to see how excited they were to see their uncle, even Xander had a big smile on his face.

"Uncle Caleb!" They screamed and hugged Caleb on either side, burying their faces in his stomach.

"U-Uncle?" Caleb looked at the twins with wide eyes and then at me.

A tear escaped my eye. I quickly wiped it away and cleared my throat.

"Yes, you are their uncle. Ryder is their father.. I'm so sorry, I didn't know I was pregnant when I left and later I couldn't take the risk of Ryder finding out about them." I said, looking down at the ground.

"Hey, come here." Caleb said and I quickly rushed over to him and hugged him.

"It's not your fault, I'm not mad. Look at them, they're perfect. I can't wait for them to meet their cousins. Now, let's go inside." He said.

After one and a half hour, I had to go visit the packhouse because Ryder didn't stop bothering me with his messages. The kids stayed with Caleb to wait for Elise and their cousins.

My journey was interrupted in the yard of packhouse.

"Kayden!?" Someone squealed behind me and soon squeals and laughter were heard, I turned around just as a pack of children and teens knocked me over.

"What are you doing here!?" One of the kids asked excitedly.

"Hey guys, let me up first." I laughed at them and we got up.

"Long story short, this is my former pack, I used to live here before the Silver Dagger pack." I said and everyone looked thoughtful until one of the teens was able to connect the dots.

"You don't happen to be our missing Luna, do you?" The teenage girl asked.

"Goddess don't call me Luna.. It's a long story but yes I am Alpha Ryder's mate." I answered them honestly.

Before the chaos could begin we were interrupted by Ryder's voice.

"Just Ryder for you Kayden. What's going on here?" He asked, glancing at the kids.

"Alpha Ryder, Kayden has been our trainer at omega camp! And now we hear he's your missing mate!" One of the smaller kids answered eagerly.

I watched Ryder for his reaction. To my surprise, he smiled and ruffled the child's hair.

"That's true, but we have a lot of things to sort out. So don't pester him about mate or Luna things, okay?" He replied and everyone nodded at him and left laughing to continue their activities.

"Shall we go?" Ryder asked pointing to the packhouse. I could only nod. I was speechless with his interaction with the kids.

"He's changed, I told you that in eight years he's definitely grown up." Kai said.

"Hmmh, maybe.." I replied and followed Ryder to his office. Fortunately, we didn't run into anyone on the way, this day has been hard already.

"How was your trip and I assume the twins are with Caleb? How did that meeting go?" Ryder asked as he sat down behind his desk.

"The trip went well, the twins were just over-eager to see their uncle. The meeting with Caleb went just perfect. He's not a big fan of yours." I grinned at him.

"You can say that.. And I don't blame him at all, I'm not a fan of myself either." Ryder said quietly.

"I'm sorry, that was unnecessary." I said looking around his study.

"You don't have to apologize for anything, I certainly deserve everything you want to say." Ryder cleared his throat and looked nervous again.

"Will you live here? At the packhouse?" He asked.

"If you can find a room big enough, I want to be in the same room with the twins." I answered.

"You could stay in my suite?" He asked hopefully.

"Um, I don't think that's a good idea."

"But-" Ryder was interrupted by the opening of the door. We both looked at the newcomer and I smiled widely and stood up. I've always liked her.

"Hey Sonya."

"Kayden! Oh my Goddess!" She hugged me gently.

Only then did I notice she was holding a child in her arms, she couldn't have been much older than one year old. She had golden blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Who is this?" I looked at the little girl who was staring back with big innocent eyes.

"You found a mate in this pack? Who is he? I guess he's quite a catch when you have such a beautiful girl." I was joking to her.

Sonya didn't answer so I shifted my gaze to her. She looked at me strangely until her expression turned angry. She looked at Ryder.

"You didn't tell him!?" She growled at Ryder.

"Told what?" I asked but Sonya continued to murder Ryder with her gaze.

I looked at Ryder who looked like a deer in headlights. He was pale, his eyes were wide and he couldn't get a word out of his mouth. I was puzzled by his behavior for a while until everything fell into place.

"Oh.." I looked again at the child whose eyes were still locked on me. How did I not notice that right away.

She is Ryder's daughter.
