As Y/n stood there, still trying to make sense of her encounter with the mysterious Yoo Jae Jung, she was taken aback when Rang suddenly walked up to her, his expression stern and mocking.
Rang (sternly): "Y/n, I see, so this is the so-called important work you had?"
Y/n (interrupting, visibly irritated): "Rang, I don't have to tell everyone about what I do, where I go, or whom I meet! Don't act ridiculous. I'm not a kid."
Rang's angry glare intensifies, and he steps closer to Y/n, backing her against a wall.
Rang: "Look, I don't care where you go or what you do, but you basically live in our guesthouse. If you're involved in anything that could cause havoc to my family, it's going to be a problem."
The words hit Y/n hard, and she felt her heart break at the unexpected reproach. Despite her strong demeanor, tears threatened to roll down her cheeks. She couldn't help but wonder if her presence in this unknown world of challenges was causing more harm than good, especially to Rang and Yeon's family, whom she was supposed to protect from lurking dangers.
Rang (noticing Y/n's hurt expression, feeling guilty): "Y-Y/n! I'm sorry, I didn't mean—"
Y/n (trying to be strong, yet hurt): "It's okay, Rang. What you said is true, indeed. I'll give you my word—the last thing I'd want is anything happening to any of your family members."
Rang felt a twinge of remorse for his outburst, realizing he had spoken out of anger. He tried to ease the tension with a question about the earlier incident.
Rang: (teasingly) "So, Y/n, enjoying the party? Or is this another one of your important missions?"
Y/n: (raising an eyebrow) "You're just jealous because I danced with Jang Uk and not you."
Rang: (pretending not to care) "Jealous? Please, I couldn't care less."
Y/n: (smirking) "Sure didn't look that way when you saw us dancing together."
Rang: (defensively) "I was just surprised, that's all. I didn't expect you to dance like that."
Y/n: "Well, you can't judge a book by its cover, Rang. There's a lot you don't know about me."
Rang: (softening his tone) "I guess so. But why didn't you want to dance with me? It was embarrassing, seeing how the guests looked at me like the handsome, good-looking guy just got rejected by some random girl…"
Y/n (feeling guilty but evading the real reason): "Okay, I agree you're good-looking, but hello, I didn't run away. I just showed off my skills in a better way because normal slow-paced ball songs aren't my thing, you see."
Rang was slightly taken aback by her response, but he didn't back down. He locked his eyes with Y/n, a hint of intimidation in his gaze, and complimented her.
Rang: "By the way, though we are in this particular party, I have to say you look beautiful, Y/n."
With a smug smirk, he slowly walked away, leaving Y/n in a whirlwind of emotions.
Y/n (in her thoughts, confused): "Wait, Jin oppa did Rang just give me feedback? Or was he mocking me sarcastically, making fun of me?"
Unable to ignore the confusion, Y/n ran after Rang, calling out to him.
Y/n: "Rang, wait! You should clear out the confusion you just caused in my brain!"
