11:45am, Saturday

...

Griffin knocked on Vance's bedroom door.

"HURRY UP" Griffin screamed, trying to talk over the music playing inside.

"GIVE ME A MINUTE DIPSHIT" Vance screamed back.

The music had turned off and Griffin headed downstairs to wait for him. Vance and his mom had moved in five years ago. Griffin was slightly scared of Vance at first, but quickly warmed up to him. The two acted like they hated each other, but it was really just jokes. They were genuinely close and good friends with each other. They were glad to have became family.

Griffin heard a notification and went to look at his phone.

...

New message from unknown

unknown: hey idk if u have my number but its robin

griffin: ohh alr
griffin: whats up

robin has been added to your contacts

robin: nothing much, just heading to the game
robin: but i have to tell you something

griffin: yeah?

...

Griffin was curious, but began to hear stomps approaching him.

"Don't break the stairs fatass" Griffin joked as he put his phone back in his pocket.

"Says the one who eats 5 meals a day." Vance said as he opened the door.

Griffin chuckled and they headed outside.

"I kinda wanna walk today, I don't know why." Vance stated, turning his head to face the shorter blonde.

The park the game took place at was conveniently close to home, so the walk would be quick anyways.

"I don't mind, you drive like a maniac anyways."

"You'd crash in an instant don't even speak" Vance joked

Griffin thought back to the conversation he had with Bruce and Finney earlier.

"So.." Griffin started.
"Why'd you guys add Bruce to your groupchat?" Griffin looked up to grin at Vance.

"Why do you care" Vance questioned as he looked away.

"Bruce is my friend."

"Well we added him fo- for fun." Vance stuttered, realizing his mistake.

Griffin went on the other side of Vance to see his face, and saw it was turning red. Griffin's expression quickly began to look more excited.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS" Griffin shouted loud enough for everyone on the block to hear

"DO YOU MIND NOT TELLING ALL OF DENVER?" Vance whisper-yelled back at Griffin.

Griffin stood there, mouth agape in shock.
Vance knew there was no point in lying anymore. Plus, he thought Griffin was trustworthy enough to know.

"YOU LIKE BRUCE?! THATS WHY BILLY ADDED HIM!" Griffin whisper-yelled back to his step-brother.

"Yeah and if you tell him before I do I'll fuck you up."

"YOURE GONNA TELL HIM?!" Griffin screamed once again.

"Shut up and let's get snacks." Vance said as he walked into the park, Griffin beside him.

Griffin was shocked to say the least. His brother, VANCE HOPPER, had a crush on one of his best friends. Now it makes a lot more sense why he comes to these games.

After buying tons of snacks, they went to find a spot on the bleachers. Vance spotted Robin sitting staring at something going on in the field since the game was about to begin.

Vance and Griffin ran to sit next to him.

"Oh hey guys" Robin greeted once he noticed who had sat beside him.

"Sup" Vance responded

Griffin nodded in Robin's direction.
Gwen, Finney's sister and Amy, Bruce's sister, were sat in front of us.

"My best friends!" Griffin exclaimed when he noticed them.

"Bestie!!" Amy responded as she went to hug Griffin from her seat. Gwen did the same.

"Hi" a voice said from next to them.

They turned to see it was Billy with multiple Snickers in his hands.

"Finally. I thought the Snickers ate you for a minute" Robin said as he grabbed two of the bars out of one of Billy's hands.

"Hey Billy, has anyone told you that you look great today?"  Vance said jokingly.

Griffin knew Vance only said that to get a Snickers, but Griffin realized he was right. Billy did look great today honestly. Everything about Billy seemed perfect to Griffin. Even if it seems weird, Griffin knew he was right.

Billy giggled. Griffin couldn't help but smile.
"If you want a Snicker just say so, Twix are so much better anyways." Billy said as he grabbed a Twix bar out of his back pocket.

Billy sat down where there was a space, which was between Robin and Vance. Once he sat down, he looked over at me.

"Hi Griffin!"  Billy said happily.

"Hi" Griffin replied smiling.

Robin gave Billy a look, one that Griffin wasn't focused on enough to be able to identify, but Billy pushed Robin jokingly and his smile grew bigger.

Before anyone could say something, the game started.
