Ingrid POV

"Ingrid, head off the table, please!" Mr Ross's quizzical voice interrupts my half sleep.

I lift my head up abruptly, eyes dazed and confused, and focus on a cross Mr Ross, his arms crossed over his chest and his foot tapping the floor slightly.

I can hear a few scattered giggles around the classroom, and I brush a strand of hair out of my eyes, tucking it behind my ear.

"Sorry Mr Ross." I grumble halfheartedly, straightening my back and focusing on the board. Something about metaphors in poetry is scrawled in his slanted, cursive handwriting.

"It's quite alright Ingrid, let's make sure it doesn't happen again, alright?" He shoots a small smile and turns back to the board.

Two girls beside me nudge each other and giggle a little bit, and a girl on my left bites her lip slowly, her eyes never leaving Mr Ross's back. Even the boy in front of me shifts in his seat, exhaling strongly out of nose.

And it's all because of the effect I like to call "The Ross", which is caused by, you guess it, Mr Ross.

He teaches Poetry Lit, and everyone claims he's some sort of gorgeous, kind, and wise god.

Girls and boys alike have crushes on him, doing anything to get a seat at the front. He's one of the younger teachers, handsome with his strong stance, defined jawline, black hair and dark blue eyes.

I don't know why he decided to teach high schoolers poetry instead of becoming a model, but whatever, his loss.

Of course he was beautiful, and smart, but he was off limits, being a teacher and all. None of us are sure if he was a wife or not, but even if he doesn't, I don't bother crushing on him, it'd be hopeless.

-----
Once the last chime of the bell strikes out, the last chime of the day, everyone floods out of classrooms, and goes to wherever the hell they go.

"Hey girl!" I hear the click clack of heels behind me and spin around to find Kat, 2 other girls by her side.

"Ok shoo, you can leave now!" Kat dismisses them with a flick of her wrist, and the two girls link arms and walk off.

I crinkle my brows in confusion. "Class friends," Kat explains.

"Oh right, ok."

"Your makeup stayed on pretty long, that's good! Anyway, you're coming over to my place, so we can quickly finish our homework and then lounge around! Sound good?" Kat garbled quickly.

I nod my head in agreement.

"Oh but first, we have to find my brother, and by find I mean follow, because I'm like a million percent sure that he is meeting up with some guy!" Kat smiled overtly sweetly.

"Ugh fine, I really don't think he's gay though, he's got like how many girlfriends? 50?" I shake my head slightly.

Kat shrugs nonchalantly, and peaks over into Mr Ross's classroom.

He's sitting at his desk, papers scattered around, and a girl in my class, I can't exactly recall the name - perhaps Arabella, or maybe Astrid - has her elbows propped onto the desk, looking over at the papers.

Mr Ross keeps glancing back at her, his eyes quizzical and almost bewildered, and she keeps meeting his gaze, smiling sweetly, before he abruptly turns back to the papers, and tells her something.

"Oh, right I understand! Could you, um, maybe help me out with that? I understand the concept but like..." Her voice was laced with pleading and an almost fake sounding confusion.
